Not a Christmas fan.

Not a romance fan.

A mixture of the two is usually enough for me to go sprinting into a new year.

The mixture of the two genres is usually pretty cringe to me.

Yet this one isn't.

I love this movie though - I love Alexandra Swarens. Anything she puts her mind to, is golden. She is severely under rated as an actress, as a producer... multi talented woman.

Alex and Olivia have amazing chemistry, in both this and City of Trees. Can't wait to see more from this duo in the neat future.

Gives me hope... then a crashing realisation that Alexandra isn't in fact my wife. Live and dream.

Amazing. Alex really did an amazing job.

The chemistry between Emma and Alex are intoxicating with the emotion, the feelings.

Alex has an amazing way of writing and producing and anything these two actresses are in, I'll watch on repeat.

All the what ifs, the will they, won't they.

Half of the time my heart hurts, feeling a tidal wave of empathy, of raw bittersweet sadness.

Could legit watch this all afternoon, was gutted when I got to the end... There shouldnt be the end to their story.

I highly recommend watching this, more so if you know your number one human is out there. Twin flames. Neither can work without the other. One is the warmth, the other is the light. Breathing life to each other.

Decent

So clichéd but still really good.

Hurts my heartstrings a little bit. Hate the way it ended, leaves it wide open for a part two.

Which I kinda hope there is, its not over for Jamie and Marike. There's mote stories to tell.

Hiding in a shell of a false person, I couldn't begin to imagine how many people live a life that isn't the real truth. Their, real truth.

It's sad, yet true, harsh and unfair... The writers did an amazing job, showing the brutality of loving another woman, all the while pretending you don't.

Grateful to not have to experience a shunning in real life for leaping out of my closet.

Chernobyl (2019)

The mini series I hate to love so much.
26 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Growing up, I've always loved history. Chernobyl is a part of it that has intrigued me. For obvious reasons there is next to no footage/photography. Barely any testimonies to mankind's, manmade disaster.

In school I wish this mini-series was something we were made to watch, be it in history or science. It applies to both. I had goosebumps, a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, palpitations and so many other aghast emotions, watching this! Very rare.

It also shows man's own arrogance. Humankind is quite capable of being destroyed by their own creations. Such scientific minds, yet what was learned after Hiroshima? The ones covering it up, denying it, should have been made to open valves, dig the tunnel with the miners. Utter cowards.

The acting, the script, the scenery, the brutal truth out in the open with the radiation... Kudos! Bravo! It worries me how guilty I feel admitting to thoroughly enjoying this series.

Beautiful.

The writing is beautiful. You can't stop yourself from falling in love.

The chemistry between all the actresses is absolutely amazing. Can almost feel the passion emanating from Liz and Eva.

Would watch again and again, if only to remind myself that real love, real passion, exists when you least expect it.
