Where the Scary Things Are (2022)
The plot was a great idea.
The plot of the movie was great. Unfortunately, what they did with it was not. It is something I don't think anyone else has ever done. But, the acting is mostly terrible. The main girl 'overacts' terribly, the lines to the facial expressions. Some of the effects weren't terrible, the makeup for Lockjaw/Crockamole were good along with the Halloween themed park they hung out at. And the music at the end did not match the scenes at all.
I also have questions....why was Ayla that unhappy at home, because of the boyfriend? Why did Ayla really hate Jenny (because of the grades?) and why is Jenny so terrified of everything? Why did the principal apparently just hate Mr. Lewis - the complaint was pretty clear. Why is Snack's name Snack and he was the only one that wasn't eaten? How did L/C escape and why didn't he do it earlier if it was that easy? Did the security guard not find any of the bodies?
Unfortunately, I really feel they could of done better.
Fear PHarm (2020)
Ok, it's not an A-list film.....
It was fun and the premise was fantastic. I've seen a ton of horror films and I've never seen this idea. Was the budget low? Probably. But the fact they did something different is aspiring. Also, never did I once wince at the acting, it was way better than 99.9% of your low budget independent horror films. By far, in my opinion.
