Better Than the Original Top Gun
26 May 2022
As usual Tom Cruise is always at his best in what he is supposed to deliver as a lead actor in any movie offered to him. It is so unbelievable that even at 59 he looks hell young as someone of 45 years, or even lesser. His down to earth attitude with a smart personality is always a winning point.

For those who haven't watched 1986's masterpiece and original Top Gun, I strongly advise you to watch it, because it has emotional and eventual connection with this sequel. Val Kilmer's short yet impactful role of Admiral Iceman, now a sufferer of throat cancer, shares emotional bonding with Pete in a part. Role of young pilot trainees and graduates played by Miles Teller, Glenn Powell and Monica Barbaro are outstanding and performed exceptionally brilliant.

Last but not the least, Jennifer Connelly deserves a strong applaud for her performance as Pete's new love interest Penelope and a single mother. Her presence alongside Tom adds a slight comfort and helps in moving the story forward.

Overall, this one is a highly recommendable sequel and more powerful than the original.

Radhe (2021)
7/10
Never miss this high octane action masala if you are a huge Salman Khan's fan
13 May 2021
If you enjoyed Wanted (2009) and expecting the same entertainment from Radhe, then definitely this one is worth a watch. Salman has returned as Radhe, the dangerous one-man-army cop who handles baddies alone with his own tactics. The entire police force relies on him to take down the deadly drug business in the city. His onscreen chemistry with Disha Patani is too cute and romantic which adds more masala in the story.

Beside Salman's star power in Radhe, another factor which makes this movie worth watching is the presence of Randeep Hooda as a drug lord and the main target of Radhe. At many points Randeep overtakes Salman with his punchy dialogues and serious facial expressions. At some points, they remind of their confrontation scenese in Kick movie.

Director Prabhudeva deserves appreciation for his returning point as a masala entertainer with Radhe.

The Power (I) (2021)
1/10
Worst Movie in Vidyut Jammwal's Career with a Pathetic Script
18 January 2021
* Firstly, The Power is a poor copy of The Godfather as well as Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar series. However, it is nowhere near to it in terms of quality and values. * Secondly, it has been terribly edited from the beginning to the end with poor cinematography. * Thirdly, it is so boring to watch Prateek Babbar playing repetitive roles of a hidden villain among the family members. This is why he doesn't get offer of good roles any more. His scary and ugly facial expressions annoy at most times. * Fourthly, the climax is hilarious as well as ridiculous with too much twists and turns which make it a rotten movie.

Watch this junk movie at your own risk.

Vanguard (2020)

Jackie Chan is Back in his Form with Vanguard
5 October 2020
Vanguard was supposed to be released on 25th January, 2020 but due to global COVID-19 pandemic this movie has been delayed, and now it has finally arrived.

After a long time Jackie Chan has returned to his form even though it's a multicast movie. Other younger actors couldn't bypass his role in Vanguard. He is growing old but his performances won't allow to reflect it. His accurate timing in both comic scenes and actions are really entertaining.

The story is written in such a way with visually super VFX and CGI action stunts that you will be amazed to see it on the theatre. Stanley Tong is always at his best with a mixture of actions and hilarious comedy scenes. Locations are selected very wisely for high octane chasing scenes with combinations of captivating fights.

Don't miss this movie if you want to enjoy an on-the-edge thrilling ride in time of pandemic.

Highly recommended 👌🏻

The Outlaws (2017)
10/10
Action Movie with realistic story and realistic performances
30 April 2020
Korean movies are generally known for their emotionally romantic and family dramas. The Outlaws doesn't fall into that category. Even though many action movies were produced in Korean movie industry, but this one stands apart with its near realistic story and realistic performances of the characters.

The Outlaws is focused on two major characters - the good cop with no-nosense but serious attitude towards his police job and the bad goon who is smart enough to deal with his opponent gangs. The bad goon would do anything to anyone who would become an obstacle for him. He is brutal enough to make others fear him, except when the good cop busts him ultimately.

I enjoyed the role of a dedicated cop by Ma Dong-seok, who is considered as a model cop by his colleagues and staffs.

Right after watching this movie, I am now a fan of Ma Dong-seok. I will watch most of his movies now without any miss.

Overall, I recommended you to watch this one if you enjoy Korean action movies.

Title Should Have Been ZombieMADland
16 October 2019
I watched the first part, and then expected this sequel would be too enjoyable ride with the zombies. Alas, this sequel is not as pleasing as the original. Even though performances of all the lead cast are appreciable, but sidecasting survivors's roles were misdirected or say wrongly scripted. At most moments they talk so nonsense that they instead annoy than entertaining. Their presence doesn't make feel good like the lead cast. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone are as cheerful as in the original even after 10 years, except Abigail Breslin who is youngest of all yet she looks overaged. I must appreciate the final climax of how awesomely large groups of zombies were destroyed by a short trick. You should watch it !

Worst Among All in the Rambo Franchise
18 September 2019
This movie is definitely one time worth watching but later on it's hard to keep in the memory. Too many expectations poured out after watching its trailer. Indeed this movie is a big disappointment for serious Rambo fans, perhaps all credits due to poor script, below average editing quality and unknown cast.

For those who have watched the previous 4 installments and expecting high on this Last Blood, you won't feel satisfaction. Too much of family drama in the first 30 minutes and lack of character development are the main causes of disaster.

However, one thing I need to appreciate is the last action scenes. Rambo's trick to tame and take down the villains is quite engaging and most scenes are brutal enough. Other than this, Last Blood is just an average movie.

Gerard Butler Rules in this 3-quel Fallen Entry
23 August 2019
The third Fallen installment is worth watching with full of suspense and gripping storyline after Secret Service Agent Mike Banning gets framed for an attempt to assasinate President Trumbull. He escapes and hunts down the hidden culprits. As usual, this movie keeps engaging right from the start to the end.

Morgan Freeman and Nick Nolte's presence makes this movie more interesting. They are legends in contemporary Hollywood. But, it is Gerard Butler who possibly holds the status of the franchise into its position of a pure entertainment. The climax also deserves appreciation after the real culprits get caught red handed and President Trumbull returns to power.

I'm hoping for another sequel to follow up in the coming years.

My rating: 8 stars out of 10 !!!

Bharat (2019)

Bharat is a Eid gift from Salman
5 June 2019
After a long long awaiting time here is finally Bharat, a decent Salman Khan starrer periodical movie opposite Katrina Kaif. Sizzling chemistry of Salman-Katrina is definitely a crowd pulling release. The collaboration between Salman and Ali Abbas Zafar will certainly make it highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2019.

Sunil Grover proved his versatile acting on silver screen besides comedy shows, with supporting roles of Tabu, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and mature Sonali Kulkarni.

One thing which I should really appreciate is the proper and appropriate timing of each song sequences. They are perfectly arranged with captivating music. Kudos to music director duo Vishal-Shekhar.

Overall, it is clear and certain that Bharat is targeted to be highest grossing Bollywood movie of the year with wholesome entertainment. All credit should go to Salman and director Ali Abbas Zafar. Critics should understand that star brands also matter in box office collections of a movie, no matter how critics rate and review it.

2 Stars for Few Nice Romantic Songs
20 January 2019
Shiv Darshan, the lead actor in this movie is the son of producer and director Suneel Darshan, and it was the reason why he got this role. Otherwise, he didn't deserve even to be casted as villain in any movie. His uninteresting presence between Upen Patel and Natasha Fernandez spoils the movie in every aspect. Natasha is sexy enough to get supporting roles in other movies, though not a lead actress.

Movie became superflop, even though it had few good songs like "Hue Bechein" which was romantic and heart touching.

I give 2 stars only for this song.

Lukas is a Pathetic and Terrible Movie
30 December 2018
It seems Van Damme's golden days are over due to his overage. Nowadays he works only with a handy HD camera and few people around him work as villains and his friends. And finally, it is edited into C- grade movie.

Lukas is one such movie which has no any substance or any quality script which will make it worth watching. I feel upset if I watch Van Damme's old movies when he was considered a martial art legend in Hollywood. Alas, those days are just past now, and he is no longer offered impressive roles, unlike Sylvester Stallone who was even nominated for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor role in Creed, barring his age.

Can any producer offer such roles to Van Damme, please?

Black Water (2018)
3/10
Another Low-Quality Van Damme Movie
10 October 2018
After watching Black Water I can clearly state that golden days of Van Damme are already over. I still re-watch most of his olden hits which were purely entertaining but now we can never expect to see such type of movies of him.

Most of his recent movies are Direct-to-Video releases, except few years older Expendables 2 in which he played the antagonist.

In Black Water, he pops up out of nowhere inside a submarine with an effort to raise suspense among audiences, but all went in vain. Eventually his identity is revealed, with a German convict as his.

The remaining story is too predictable as what will happen next.

This kind of low budget movies are so hopeless both in wasting time and money. But, in my case I expected to see something better in Van Damme after watching its highly engrossing trailer, which finally turned out to be useless.

Good luck Van Damme !!

Another average John Abraham movie: Don't watch it
17 August 2018
As usual, Satyameva Jayate is just another average B Grade movie which has John Abraham in lead role, sided by brilliant actor Manoj Bajpayee. If you watched its trailer and still you want to watch it on theater... I can only suggest you not to watch it. However, it's your choice whether to save money.

This movie has nothing new storyline to offer its audiences, other than same old "corrupt cops avenged by a larger than life hero avataar". Once again John Abraham has proven that he does not possesses the talent of a natural actor. His poor acting and regular gym body show is the weapon which destroys this movie. Other than this, Satyameva Jayate is a pure entertainer.

But on the sideline, Manoj Bajpayee's performance could be a saving grace, but overall it's hard to tolerate its climax. What a terrible movie !!!

And yes... John Abraham is NOT Salman Khan who has charm to pull audiences even if his movies are worst than watching "cartoon" for adults.

(PS: I'm not a John Abraham hater, but this movie is just AWFUL and TERRIBLE.)

Style (2016)
8/10
Never miss this movie - really Fresh and Stylish as its name says
10 October 2017
I do rarely watch any Malayalam movie except for those which starred Mohanlal and Mammootty for their powerful and versatile acting skills. Among South Indian movies, Telugu and Tamil movies are major audience pulling types for their kind of 'masala' filmmaking.

However, while watching random trailers on YouTube I came across the trailer of Style, which I found to be worth watching. Then I went ahead of watching it online.

One thing I should admire is the cool and no-nonsense style of Unni Mukundan with an heroic physique, suitable for making the story entertaining accompanied by a beautiful and gorgeous actress Priya Kandwal. Both of them make an exceptionally lovely chemistry.

At first the story convinces to make us feel like Style is a romantic movie, until the villain pops us in the middle of the romances between the lovebirds. It is also hard to expect the protagonist to fulfill what we want in a mix of action and romance, but ultimately he does it with panache. Tovino Thomas, as Edgar, exceptionally performs well in the role of the main antagonist with a positive vibe.

But, what keeps the movie at bay is the heroic and charismatic appearance of the lead hero Unni Mukundan as a cool car-mechanic Tom with his masochistic well built physique, which sometimes reminds us to possibly replace Salman Khan in Bollywood if provided chances. I would rate Unni Mukundan above Salman Khan and John Abraham for his better acting skill than the other two. He could superlatively perform well even in romantic and family scenes without any doubt.

I also endlessly wonder and wonder for why on earth beautiful and gorgeous actress Priya (or Priyanka) Kandwal has only 2 movies on her kit !! Such an angelic and charming actress should be given more role offers to entertain the audiences.

Overall, I rate Style 8/10 for its excellent fresh environment, entertaining story, brilliant casting and appropriate title i.e, Style.

Don't miss this movie, if you like to refresh your mind !!

Security (I) (2017)

Antonio looks aging and tired, yet he is entertaining
23 August 2017
Long days back when we remember Antonio Banderas for his revengeful role in Desperado and its sequel Once Upon A Time in Mexico, as sword fighter in The Zorro series and a few more.

The story setting of Security seems to be too simple enough to impress the audiences (including his fans) but what keeps this movie at bay is Banderas' serious role as a former marine desperate for a new security job at a mall.

Everyone grows old and aged, but not everyone has the skill to entertain the targeted audiences of action genre even after growing old. And when Banderas is given the opportunity to show his action stunt skills, he does it with panache and looks refreshingly suitable for adrenaline pumping. His action stunts are still fresh and stylish for action loving fans, and if he is offered serious action oriented role in high budget movies he will certainly perform it.

I don't find any reason to share a single part of Security's story because it is for you to watch it and here I find Security as worth watching for spending a bored time.

I strongly recommend you to watch Security for Banderas' role as a dedicated newbie security guard focused on saving the sweet girl from goons.
