Holiday Home Makeover with Mr. Christmas (2020)
Rich people getting help they didn't need
I liked the firehouse episode, decorating the firehouse was something the whole town enjoys and a tribute to the late fire chief. The rest though were all well-to-do people with big homes, and the third already had a ton of decorations. I was hoping they'd help people who are elderly or disabled or ill and couldn't decorate, or don't have money for decorations. Camera angles and cuts often made it difficult to see the diy process. Giant kitchens and livingrooms that are newly remodeled and have high end furniture and appliances don't really reflect the average viewer. Much of the Christmas decor is Instagram worthy, but kind of sterile.
Dragnet (1987)
Falling asleep during this
My husband and decided to watch this, we thought it was weird we never heard of it considering the cast. The plot is thin though and the story really drags. It might have had better pacing if about half an hour of unneccesary scenes and purposeless dialog were cut. I kept struggling to focus, and he kept falling asleep despite taking breaks. The attempts at jokes really fall flat. It doesn't seem to know if it's a serious drama or parody comedy. A shame since Dan Aykroyd really seemed to be trying. Tom Hanks is great, but seems miscasted in this movie, he can only do so much with the dialog though.
6 Underground (2019)
A teenage boy's favorite
Do you like expensive action scenes with slo-mo focused on blood, peppered with sex scenes, and all the songs by Muse? Are you fine with no plot whatsoever and not so subtle product placement? Then this is for you. I can see a thirteen year old kid enjoying all the guns, destruction, blood, and sexy ladies, but that's all this movie has. No plot, and any "jokes" jjust fall flat.
