Prime Suspect: Tennison: Episode #1.6 (2017)
Season 1, Episode 6

An excellent end to an excellent series
7 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I only started watching this series cos my wife wanted to, but it has been one of the best things I've watched in a long while. I could hardly breathe during episode 5, it was so tense. Had no idea how it was going to end and couldn't tear my eyes from the screen in episode 6. I'm not the soppy one, but I was in bits.

Beautifully acted and written. Can't wait for series 2. Never thought I'd say that 6 weeks ago!

Wow one of the best hours of TV I've seen
30 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
What can you say after this episode, except wow and peel your jaw off the floor. One of the most tense episodes of TV I've watched all year. The tension was built throughout the episode, with Bradfield blinded by his hatred of Bentley and putting the Julie Ann case at risk. The heist scenes were a highlight of the series (they really have saved the best until last - if the last episode is half as good as this one, the first series will go out on a high) and I liked everything about the building of the police investigation and the heist. Edge of the seat.

But the ending! What a cliffhanger! I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet, but it's one of those classic TV moments that leave you staring at your TV screen mouthing swear words. It's genius. Well done, Lynda La Plante and Glen Laker for writing one of the best series of the year.

Loving this series
24 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was by far the best of the series (so far!). Shame they're saving the best episodes until last, as lots of people gave up after the first two episodes. Well, you're loss. The opening episode's setting up of the story have really reaped rewards here. Episode 2 picked up the pace, then Episode 3 was brilliant, but episode 4 was even better. Jane suddenly becomes the Jane Tennison we know from Helen Mirren's Prime Suspect series. Real steel in her performance. Stefanie Martini silences any doubters in this episode. She gives a brilliant turn.

I can't wait for the next episode. Shame there's only 2 more to go. Surely a second series is in the offing? This is going to win awards, it's so good.

Prime Suspect: Tennison: Episode #1.3 (2017)

Best episode yet.

Warning: Spoilers
Best episode yet. I am loving this series. In this episode, the parents of Julie Anne are questioned in what were some brilliantly written and acted interrogation scenes. Really tense. There's a shocking revelation (I won't spoil it) and they get another clue out of it, which leads them a step closer to "Tod" and it's Jane who once again shows her cleverness by getting them one step closer still and finally revealing who Tod/Oz is.

The final scene is shocking and angry and violent, but what an ending! It's the best cliff hanger of the series so far and I can't wait for the next episode. I get the feeling this is the moment the series has been building to - when Jane takes centre stage. 10/10!

My favourite new show
11 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So glad I caught this - think it's brilliant. As other reviewer said, the music is amazing. The story has me sucked in, really addictive, want to know what happens next. Bit of Juliet Bravo, bit of Life on Mars, bit of The Sweeney, bit of the old Prime Suspect. The actress who plays the main role Jane Tennison is perfect, can't take my eyes off her. Also great to see Alan Armstrong and Neil from Inbetweeners in new roles, both playing new types of characters we haven't seen them play before. At least I haven't.

First episode introduces the murder of Julianne Collins and WPC Tennison, who here is new to the job and still finding her way around Hackney police station. There's also another plot about a prisoner played by Armstrong and his sons, who are clearly up to no good. Really draws you into these people's lives and you want to know more. I haven't read the book, but this series makes me want to. It's my new favourite show.

My new favourite show

Love this show. Not many shows transport me to a different time and place but this one does it in bucket loads. Love the actress who plays Jane - she's a star in the making - and the actor who plays her boss is good too. Alan Armstrong seems to be enjoying himself, playing a nasty piece of work, and Neil from the Inbetweeners is so good i didn't even realise it was him until episode 2! Love a good bit of crime and this is one of the best on TV at the moment. Came for the music and flares, stayed for the story, you could say. Love it.
