I think this may have been better at the cinema, to be honest. I tried to watch it the other night with my girlfriend and a couple of glasses of wine and ended up switching it off due to having no idea whatsoever what was going on. The problem is that it isn't abstract or artistic enough to be interesting despite being nonsense (such as a Lynch film like Inland Empire, for example), it simply just doesn't make sense and is therefore very boring.
I'm quite sure that in the captive environment of the cinema it would be easier to follow, and gut feel tells me that it is probably a great film if you're patient enough - but watching it at home on anything less than a personal cinema: don't bother unless you are prepared to watch it 2 or possibly even 3 times.
