Not good
14 August 2006
I watched this movie last night. Well I started the night before last but couldn't make it through the whole thing in one go. Now, granted I am not going to deny that I fall asleep easily, however, falling asleep during this movie had no influence on my decision that I found this film to be crap. First lets talk about the acting... I was only slightly impressed by Angelina's attempt at a new york accent. Other than that, I thought it was a less than stellar performance on all fronts. Come on, Dezel what the heck were you thinking? Hmm, maybe he thought he had already payed his dues making movies where he actually had to walk, and felt he owed it to himself to take it easy on this one. I felt he over acted throughout the whole picture. And that has got to be hard to do when you are stuck in a bed the entire time. Angelina was so skinny it was uncomfortable to watch. Aside from that, the whole melodramatic feel to the movie took away from it's coolness. It just seemed that the relationship between Denzel and Angie was forced and fake and totally romanticized, forcing it into something it wasn't at all. And what was the whole relationship thing they tried to throw in there? Complete nonsense. Then the killer. He was the dude form Very Bad Things and to me, played the same character but with more words. He was so over the top it, again, made the coolness of the movie turn into a piece of packaged string cheese. Don't get me wrong, I love cheese. Cheese like cabin fever is good. Cheese like Saved by the Bell is good. But Cheese like this picture just wasn't my brand of cheese. Laslty, Queen Latifa. I don't know about anyone else here, but I love this woman. I will watch anything she is in, just cuz she is in it. Now I know what you are thinking.... How can this person be a reliable source on this film, when she is an admitted "teef" fan. I loves me some Teefs, and I thought that she could've played a bigger part in this picture. In fact, if she played the part that Angie played, and vice versa, this probably would'a been more believable. I rated it a 2, as I truly felt this film could've been a good picture, but sadly was just a waste of my time.

Grease 2 Rules
6 April 2006
I have a theory that anyone who actually saw Grease 2 before they saw the original will agree that it is a better movie. I mean don't get me wrong, Grease the "OG" is a great film.... Classic. But I remember when my family first got HBO, I musta been 8 or so (seeing as it came out in '82 that seems about right) and I fell in love!!! I was a kid that actually "played" this movie. I based my whole coolness on that of the pink ladies. I wore satin jackets and even got one from my parents with my name on it. (Although it was purple) I didn't f-in care. I am sure if I had seen the "OG" first I would feel differently, but I didn't, so I love Grease 2 more.... And I know a lot of people my age that feel the same way. I know every word by heart as well as every song by heart!! The songs, Johnny Nogerelli, Goose, Louis Damuchi, Rhonda, Sharon, Paulette Rebchuck, The talent show, the Luau, the motorcycles, the leather, Michael Carrington and of course Stephanie Zanoni. F-in Ace!

I heart this film....

I had to add a comment to this page because I couldn't believe that it only had a 4. something rating. I believe it deserves something much higher. I first saw this film about 15 years ago now, and ever since it has become one of my all time favorites. The comedy to the acting to the soundtrack all truly represent the best of 80's comedy film making. Either you love 80's films or you hate them. My husband hates them, which makes me wonder sometimes how I could've married a man that stands against everything I love about movies. The two Barry's are the best. "Barry - Barry... I scored"! I think I have watched this move about 50 times in my life and that is no exaggeration. I will watch it anytime its on. Jimmy Cliff delivers a soundtrack like no other. Every song could'va made one of his albums without anyone knowing it was Scored for a film. In fact I wish I could find where to buy the soundtrack as I have looked for years and have never been able to find it. Brian Doyle Murray is also hilarious in this film. Maybe it has to do with my childhood and experimenting with Reggae, and Drugs that made me fall in love with this film, but as I said it will always be one of my favorites and I hope everyone that loves 80's films gets to see this at least once.

Oh Yeah!!!!

If you are a horror fan buff, you must see this film. My brother and I saw it about two weeks ago and are still talking about it. "Head on a Stick". After years and years of watching horror movies and laughing at them rather then feeling scared or even uncomfortable, this movie finally delivered what we horror movie fanatics have been waiting for. They have it all. I mean you want the three kids to get away, but they don't. And even though the beginning was thought to be slow, I felt it did a good job of really getting you warmed up to the characters. So when the crap hit the fan, and the horror began, you really felt for them. I mean at one point, I just couldn't take anymore torture. I was like "Oh God Please NO, NO More!". And...that is what I want from my horror. Thank you!
