Cleopatra (1963)
10/10
Wonderful and breathtaking picture
17 March 2006
Lets face it; this film, starring Elizabeth Taylor, has become as much of a legend as Cleopatra herself! My recommendation is that you buy the 3 disc remastered collectors set--then you can see it in all of its intended glory. Spactacular acting, costumes, scenery, make-up and effects make this a must see movie for everyone. And also, it was not a 'flop' as some people have mentioned; its one of the highest grossing movies of all time, but its just that its huge budget eclipsed this. And who can fail not to be enthralled by the real life love story that was taking place at the time with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton? It has to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, love story of the 20th century! And you can see it all take place right here in this movie. Watch this movie, as you will love it.

Destroy All Humans! (2005 Video Game)
How great is this game?
9 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
"Destroy All Humans!" is easily THE best PS2 game of 2005. I love all the homages/references to the 1950s (and before) and the alien invasion genre. I have to agree with itgagnet0409 in that there should be more cool weapons, and the Earth v Fly.Sau. idea, but it wasn't a disappointment. Some of the quotes are hilarious and here are some of my favourites: "What are you doing, stumpy?" "Orson Welles was right!" "Anybody ever tell you you look like a grey baby in leather?" "Get back here you alien freak!" "Commies!" "I am NOT green!" And many others (well I find them funny anyway). The characters are all very well designed/voiced and Silhouette (who there should have been more of) was a really great villain. And it was pure genius to make the cops Irish! It was a very enjoyable play (but I wish there had been more missions etc.) and it would be brill to have a sequel that visits major cities. Grant Albrecht did a really good job as Crypto and sounding like Jack Nicholson made it even better. Everyones' thoughts from Silhouette to Farmer Harold Turnipseed were well thought out. (Incidentally, does anyone know what the 'Thought Contest' means in the credits?) Well done Pandemic Studios!
