Naakt (2006)
Acceptability
Some parents - even in the Netherlands - will find it outrageous that a movie is made for children with obvious nudity. Most parents will like it and I would certainly recommend that it is broadcast on television. It's different in the USA, of course. It is my understanding that American stations can expect high penalties if they even consider to broadcast a movie like this.
The title means 'Naked'. Although nudity is the main subject of the movie, I would have chosen a different title. 'Erik goes to a sauna' for example.
The credits mention that the children's names are Erik and Sofie, but no name is mentioned in the movie.
Robby (1968)
Short description
Completely innocent nudity - no attempt to hide certain body parts - why would that be forbidden or controversial?
The story is a bit incomplete. Where did Robby come from when his boat was washed ashore? And how could a man suddenly appear on the island? And where did they get the sailing boat to leave the island?
The film was finished in a hurry. Robby and Friday are on a boat, and suddenly they are in a car arriving at a house where they are welcomed, and that's the end.
Only three actors, if you don't count the car driver and the woman who is probably Robby's mother.
Oom Ferdinand en de toverdrank (1974)
A lady emerges from a magic painting
Three children and their uncle find a magic painting in the uncle's attic. When they pronounce a spell, a lady named Esmeralda emerges from the painting. The lady must return to the painting, unless certain conditions are fulfilled. A magic drink, which makes them invisible, should help them. Two thieves (who seem to like nothing but cakes) kidnap one of the children to require a ransom. And it is found that a man, the father of Peter Faber (that's the name of an actor too, but not in this movie) is needed for help. That is not easy, since the they are not on friendly terms with Peter and his father.
I taped this movie, and the children want to see it again and again.
