Wind River (2017)
Movie with great suspense and great purpose
Tough to watch and swallow, but movie had a great purpose. I don't like wasting time and energy on movies these days but I luckily ran into this one after some research. Very painful to endure through in the movie theater since I tend to be very sensitive and emotional - I also have three girls. It was worth watching and it has deepened my gratefulness for my children. Humanity ca be pain and beautiful at the same time. I hope the world is a better place after this film.
Ittefaq (2017)
Definitely no more than a 5/10 rated movie
Akshaye Khanna's acting was exciting and solid as it has been as of late, especially in detective roll which suits him well. My family and I got excited to watch this movie after witnessing 8/10 star rating on this site. Movie actually ended up being no more than 5/10... I honestly rated it 4/10. Really wasn't as good as I expected. Should have sat in Secret Superstar and enjoyed it for a 2nd viewing instead. They tried hard with this movie but came up well short, I feel.
The Emoji Movie (2017)
Great movie for younger children and for adults with a positive outlook.
Did not want to watch this movie after witnessing all the 1/10 and 2/10 reviews. My two girls convinced me to watch since they were so persuaded by the trailers. The movie was actually better than I expected. Most importantly, my 6 year old and 9 year old truly enjoyed it and came out so happy afterwards. That's what matters most. I would personally rate the movie between a 6 -7 stars, however a 9 is well deserved to try and bring it back up with all the negative ratings. This movie really has a positive influence on the child's mind. I may even buy it on DVD as well. * This movie did have similarities to another movie we really enjoyed - "Inside Out".
Cars 3 (2017)
Worth my time and money to watch
Rate it 8 out of 10. Great philanthropy expressed in this movie. Dream it. Then believe it. Well worth the watch, and the 3rd installment adds much needed value and heart to the series. I've been waiting to watch Cars 3 ever since I saw the trailer 6 months or so ago. I loved the concept / purpose and how it lit the fire within myself. I had a choice to watch the well-reviewed Wonder Woman movie, however I picked Cars 3 because I felt it related to me much more.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017)
Worth My Family's Time
I'm a fairly tough reviewer and critic, however I don't review very often, and I wanted to contribute to this particular movie because of the ironic reviews from the media and professional critics. I have two girls - 7 and 5 years old - and the older one absolutely begged me to watch this movie. I also wanted to watch it from the trailer and from the prior movie editions I've seen in the past, however this one I was very hesitant on after reading up on the reviews. After reading one specific review right before mine, I decided to take the plunge. I felt like kicking myself afterwards since I don't like wasting my time and energy on worthless movies these days. I'll just get to the point: This movie was so awesome and family oriented. A lot of laughter and humour and just good, quality family bonding chemistry in the picture... And the positive energy transfers over to real life as well... I would honestly rate this movie between a 7 and a 8, so I rounded up because it is well-deserved. My kiddo reads the books after the series as well. I admire all the creativity and work put into these series, especially this one as well. They say this one is not the same, but I beg to differ. This one is also worth the watch - every single bit if not more. Go see it with your family if you are hesitant like I was!
