The Strangers (2008)

Embarrassingly bad
15 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Unless the director was trying to prove how not to make a horror then this movie is a complete and utter failure.

If I was any of the actors involved and I cared about my career and not just the pay check, then I'd be ashamed, very ashamed to be associated with this movie.

Any director that thinks an audience will buy that a man armed with a shotgun and be over powered by three unarmed people, two of which are seemingly children needs to question if he is in the right line of work.

Seriously.

Go work at Burger King, you'll make more people happy.

Outlaw (2007)

I enjoyed this movie until half way through
14 April 2008
As the title suggests I enjoyed this movie until about half way through.

I was lured to the cinema with the promise of seeing random chavs and drug dealers getting a kicking, the sort we see at the end of the street causing trouble, something we can all relate to.

And in the first part of the movie it seemed as though this was what was going to happen. I liked the realistic hopelessness of the movie seeing everyday people deal with everyday problems, being let down by the law, completely unable to deal with modern crimes.

The it all turned to crap.

Gangland mobsters, crime bosses somehow able to instruct an entire squads of professional armed police officers into mindless killers. It went Hollywood and any trace of the realistic feel of the movie went out of the window. It was at this point in time I lost interest, I stayed to watch it, lets face it, I'd paid my £7 to get in, but I didn't enjoy it.

So this movie get 5/10 and thats most for the first half.

Great Zombie film, Yes - Resident Evil film, No
12 October 2007
While this RE3 was a cracking zombie movie, it strayed to far from the original concept and excepted storyline. In my opinion this has rendered the movie pointless in the RE franchise.

Let's not forget that Resident Evil owes it popularity to the game series, so I think it's only right that they try and stick to it, even if it's just a little bit. It seems very much like the director wanted to make an updated version of Day of the Dead, if you've seen DOTD you'll see what I mean in the first 5 minutes of RE3.

If this were a stand alone movie I would have given it 10/10, but it isn't, they've tried to be too creative and the director has tried to make a different movie. By doing this he's make a cracking zombie film. but a Resident Evil film, I think not.

I only hope this isn't the last one, it would be a terrible waste.
