Screamers (1995)
A mid 90's Sci-fi Classic, that no one's heard of...
Screamers, a Phillip K. Dick inspired short story, morphed into a film, a little ahead of the times. So much, with the gore, cgi, and sets (that rivals StarShip Troopers 97'). Two warring factions mining over energy of course. The twist is it's in the future and on another planet. Of course A.i. Has reached some sort of Sentience with the Defence of this new Empire building. Seems rather prophetic or maybe even predictive programming. Which Dick has been known too do.
It is great. If you like Sci-fi and military conflicts just like the Dune or the Command and Conquer video game series - look no further. The Male Protagonist jas a very sarcastic and dry humor, but tough and rugged like Eastwood or even Hauer. He is paired with a new grunt/infintry cadet and his of course is the comic relief. He looks like a Baby Joe Bernthal.
Rutger Hauer in this role would of nailed it IMHO. Although Peter Weller did an amazing job in the view of it being a comic book adaptation or graphic novel.
The 44:41 - 47:35 mark (Pinocchio's not a real little boy scene) best scene. The 44:05 scene has cgi that is ahead of the time.
So, hurry buy it on VHS before it hypes up in price!
The Dirt Bike Kid (1985)
Biker gangs galore!
This belongs in the - "so bad it's good" category. The flying dirt bike scenes are too funny to express, there is a - middle aged biker gang with a leader named "Big Slime" who just want to "jump on jacks face" and "light him on fire" lol.
Totally recommend, plenty of goofs and editing issues. A classic for sure.
They Live (1988)
+A true 80's classic...but overall nonsensical+
This film I will always have a soft spot for. As someone who is awake to how the World "turns" or is "run" by globalist elites. I can relate to - Nada.
So with that, there are so many quotable lines and great T-shirt ideas not to mention cuts for a YouTube channel.
All in all it's still misses the mark as a great film. A theme song gets rather annoying as well as the "flow" of the movie. Not much character development of Nada, more dialogue would of been great. Only scene with much depth was in the crappy hotel will Frank and it seemed to be cut or edited short.
The ending could of been better. The turn with Holly never got explained or even developed. Damn I still love it!
Jeff & Some Aliens (2017)
Funny, Clever, Great Characters,
The fact it only has one season is a bummer, but In my opinion this will go down as a hidden gem. Maybe the one season will help it gain underground status. Jeff is a straight up trip. Definitely a instant classic and I totally recommend.
Us (2019)
Hyped and Hoped.....for something great.
Came into this film with great expectations, left extremely frustrated.
This whole movie hinged on the ending, which is a great but you still leave with more questions than answer's. Very illogical.
Idk I wanted the film to end. And It was also to lonnngg.
Never explained the prophecy of bum guy scene's.
Then gave an extremely vague answer as to why the underground tunnels and the purpose of the doppelganer's
Stupid! Plain stupid! Illogical!
Tom yum goong 2 (2013)
Seems to me a westernized version of the first film
@ The 12:45 mark horrible editing. Also the humor is weak and dumb. I believe this was for western audiences, they also went the cheap route, as far as the productions go.
The Ninth Gate (1999)
A movie you say this is pure art...
Beautiful shot. The choice of actors are perfect. Mr. Depp most underrated role. One of the most underappreciated films ever made.
