Fear the Walking Dead: Amina (2022)
How Embarassing
The writing on this show has reached a new low, an impressive feat as it was already incredibly bad. Do yourself a favor and don't think too hard about how something this bad somehow managed to be written, accepted, filmed and released. It is not something that can be rationalized or made sense of.
I Know What You Did Last Summer: Your Next Life Could Be So Much Happier (2021)
Incredible Finale, Just Not in a Good Way
The show had more than its fair share of flaws and missed opportunities to begin with, most notably the absence of the iconic trench coat wearing hook handed killer from the movie(s), but was entertaining enough.
I actually rather enjoyed the finale as I have not laughed so hard at a horror movie/show in a long time. To say it makes no sense is an incredible understatement.
Fear the Walking Dead: Welcome to the Club (2020)
Could Have Been Great
I enjoyed the majority of the episode but there were 2 major fatal flaws in the writing.
The opening scene: there is large group of walkers pressing up a garage door, the door opens...somehow none crawl out, they just reach out and drag people in. Quite simply, this isn't how it works, you can't just change their behavior for dramatic effect. As a viewer it just makes me not care.
Alycia/Strand's attempt: set up a metal enclosure for them to walk in, trapping them there once they get out of the garage. Hey, that's smart, good job! Next step, open the door and let them out. ...Wait what? They are trapped there just kill them with your spears... and I'm back to not caring.
Early on in the TWD/FTWD stupid mistakes and poor planning were understandable, the characters were new to this. Now they are supposed to be the few survivors who have figured out how to live in this world, so plans this stupid are just lazy writing and make me not care about the characters. It shouldn't be that hard to put the characters in challenging life or death situations without it being caused by their own stupidity.
The 100: Thirteen (2016)
Solid Episode, Ignore the Spam Bad Ratings
If you look at the ratings you may notice this episode, along with the rest of Season 3 after this point have far more ratings than the other episodes, and are the worst rated episodes. This is because a strong LGBT character was killed off in a shocking way and the community back-lashed and tried to have the show taken off the air on account of it.
I understand that it is hard to see that, but the 100 is a show that kills off major characters all the time, and while it could have executed better, this character had to be killed off anyways (signed on to work on a different show). To boycott a show because of this is to say that LGBT characters should be treated differently, not the same as others. More importantly it hurts the cause because it will make writers nervous to write LGBT characters as they will feel the need to walk on eggshells with them. The 100 is a show that has numerous LGBT characters on it and none of them are looked at differently because of it. It is a shame that members of the community have lost sight of this and chosen to focus on the way that one of them was killed off.
