Sycophant (2009)
Feeling sycophantic about "Sycophant"
Cleverly written film. Rarely do we find such a well developed story line in a short film, let alone a comedy. Hartsock's outside-the-box thinking makes him great at what he does; understanding the importance of storytelling and understanding his audience. Sycophant is enjoyable and well worth watching. His directorial vision shines in this well-crafted comedy.
A Place of Their Own (2014)
A look at Home Sweet Home Like You've Never Seen Before
In this heartbreakingly insightful documentary short film, Cinematographer Lenard Charles goes deep into a social issue that is so prevalent that it hides in plain sight - homelessness. Mr. Charles' unique film approaches homelessness from a new and distinctly personal perspective that humanizes this often overlooked humanitarian crisis. This is one short that everyone needs to watch. "A Place of Their Own" has not only earned a place of their own in the Garden State Film Festival, but also in the hearts and minds who've had the opportunity to see the film.
The Usual Suspects (1995)
Unusually scintillating
The "usual suspects" is an unusually awesome classic Hollywood film. I had a time when not every film that was released was a blockbuster as it is sometimes the case now days, "the usual suspects" brought a synergy and cinematic craftsmanship that has proved the test of time -It's as good today as it was in 1995. Actor Stephen Baldwin (McManus) whom already had a solid reputation truly elevated himself to Hollywood heavyweight status in this pre-millennial classic. A must see for action movie enthusiasts.
