Level (2021)
Stupidity Compressed
A video full of stupid opinions from people who are convinced they have become experts through investigating nothing, misunderstanding everything and trying to convince other stupid people to buy into the con to make YouTube revenue and thus not get a proper job.
Dunning Kruger at its finest here.
Black Mirror: Crocodile (2017)
It's a concept TV show people
A very interesting episode that puts us into a position where we ask ourselves what we would do to protect ourselves.
Now of course we all hope we'd have just called the police at the first incident but then again we've all been young and hoped problems would just go away.
Overall a superb episode but not the best.
Now to just push back on some of the stupid comments on here.
1. What has this woman's physique got to do with anything - I didn't see anything about her being anorexic so why raise it (lazy reviewing)
2. The technology is conceptual and shows us, as a theme running through season4, what could happen on different levels. The focus is on the interface tech. We hear in "Arkangel" how it's a emerging tech and this again seems to be an earlier version.
3. Strangling a guy who has had his head smashed on a marble floor - probably easier than you think!
4. It's a tv show people. The whole black mirror concept is a superb view at the human psyche. It's well written and well shot. 1 episode looks like a Hollywood blockbuster, the next like a b-movie, the next like a Scandinavian drama. If these subtleties are not recognised then don't write reviews ;)
2036 Origin Unknown (2018)
A strong 5 - it's a movie made for TV
This is never a 1
It draws on so many movies that maybe reviewers aren't picking them up
2001
Terminator
The abyss
The matrix
Singularity
The day the earth stood still
Interstellar
The Martian
War games
Etc etc etc
Katee is a pretty cool actor - she really is the only person in the movie so without anyone to bounce off she does a sterling job :)
Special effects - yup they are no Prometheus but it's made for TV.
It's enjoyable and not as complicated to understand as people say.
Enjoy it for what it is
The Last Train (1999)
Last Train - Worth a watch...
Watching this mini series almost 6 years after it was broadcast, didn't take anything away from what was originally intended. At a time when Lost (series 1) and the 4400 (series 2) were airing, this repeat on the SciFi Channel was a very welcome break from middle of the road, big budget American attempts at gripping SciFi.
The plot may not be as air-tight as it could be but it still has you hanging on the edge of your seat and these little things just pass by without you noticing.
What really impressed was the series' "grittyness" and it doesn't think twice about killing off main characters at the peak of their storyline.
I highly recommend this series for anyone - not just SciFi fans. Its age doesn't show at all!!
