I have seen better than that
26 April 2018
The film deals with the character of idiot a role similar to that played by Tom Hanks in Forrest gump ; which is also the same character wrote by Fyodor Dostoyevsky in his famous novel but I did not like the character who played by Peter Sellers . Any way the only scene attract me when a black maid who knew Peter Sellers before he became famous she commented angrily :
  • it is for sure a white man is world in America
before she add about Peter Sellers
  • he was a size of a pissant .
her sentence that can be seen from two points . The first ; is the lady has some right in what she said ; Peter Sellers in the film does not have the qualifications to be a prominent person how ever became a star. The question would be if a black person would get the same prestige . But from the other side the words of the lady have some prejudice in Peter Sellers description ; this man even his mental abilities are simple but he spent his life contemplating and certainly has what he deserves to listen but the lady does not see this because the knot of oppression inside her has made her eyes narrow .

The film did not show every thing
7 April 2018
I think the spread of the drug trade as shown by the film it must have protection ; which means that some politicians and jurisdictions were protecting traders who were chasing them Veronica but the film did not show them

If we talk Halim ; where to start talk ?
28 March 2018
Abd El Halim wanted to represent a film with out singing ; he had a desire to prove his abilities as an actor but the disease did not allow him already he passed early before achieved many things he dreamed of . Although Halim act a role as an university student and he was 40 years more less but this did not mind the great successful for the film . Abd El Halim was not only the reason for success but the director Hussein Kamal who presented Halim differently from his previous films . The song Gana El Hawa consider the first video clip to be filmed in Arab cinema ; when Hussein Kamal depicted fast scenes between Abd El Halim and Nadia Lutfi unlike what was the usual filming in Egyptian cinema when the directors was depicted the song in one place with one scene . Behind scenes saw a small argument between Abd El Halim and Hussein Kamal during the filming of the song Doko El Shamasi ; Hussein Kamal was enthusiastic to show Abd El Halim as a cheerful young man so he wanted to filming Halim wears a swimming suit but Halim refused the directors requested so Hussein Kamal left the scene and was angry but Halim folow him and asked him to speak separately ; As they were together alone Halim took off his tshirt then Hussein Kamal looked at the body of Halim and found the traces of the surgical operation in his body and then he told him we will shoot the scene as your like . So far the film is banned to play in local Egyptian TV because it is considered by the standards of governmental censorship is the most daring in the films of Halim because it contains many kisses between Abd El Halim and Nadia Lutfi ; some even Criticize the film and called it a thousand kiss film but this did not prevent the success of the commercial film has continued to show in the cinemas for a year and was suspended by a decision of the Egyptian parliament .

Execution of people does not destroy ideas
7 February 2018
I think these political ideas no longer exist in the present time ; Now many people know it is not necessary to adhere to a particular policy to claim your right to economic prosperity and your right to express opinion but for the time when these events took place these two simple factors had only one chance belonging to one of the political groups that can achieve their ideas for some liberation from the owners of capital and this movement was anarchist . As a viewer I do not know about anarchism except for some surface information which made me feel a bit alienated in the details of the film ; In general than I had read about them they did not believe in institutions or any governmental supervision ; for example the anarchist was calling for the cancellation of teachers from schools and that the student is responsible for the collection of his own science ; despite the absurdity of these ideas it is said that there are some names that have a good reputation such as the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy who believe these ideas . The problem of Sacco and Vanzetti were facing political system which wanted to destroy these ideas which meant destroying Sacco and Vanzetti ..

Slave Trade
30 January 2018
The thing that attracted me the most was the slave trade which was organized by the west which was shown in multiple films such as Khartoum by Charlton Heston and Ashanti by Michael Caine in this movies it was shown that third world countries were the ones that had bad behaviors but this film depicts the other side of the world ; A father whose daughter disappeared found out that his daughter has become a commodity to some people who are earning money off of her abusing her body . One of the most scenes for me was when the girl had to pay George C. Scott to talk to her over the phone and she was naked with only a glass wall between them ; I did not know that body trade could reach this limit .

Henry Barakat did not present Laila Mourad well
7 December 2017
I think Egyptian cinema has all the possibilities to make good films but they choose the easy way like master it easy with out creating a new ideas . in this film Kamal Al-Shennawi wants to escape from marriage which his father wanted to in force him to do ; the director wanted to show this bride as ugly and acts like a fool although Mona who played that role these descriptions did not apply but the role she played was only to serve on Laila Mourad . I consider the worst scene of the movie when the mother forced her daughter to sing although her voice was bad ; then comes the solution when Laila Mourad singed to save the situation . in my opinion it was a bad scene because it served only the role of Laila Mourad

second film by Youssef Chahin
22 November 2017
The movie talk about a man grew up in a village and he went to the metropolis; he impressed by the manifestations of modernity and the people of the metropolis take advantage by his naivety. The master scenes : First when Shukry Sarhan rescued Faten Hamama on the train bar. - Also the scenes that depicted the flood of the Nile, also the scenes are not very impressive. It consider good for the possibilities of Egyptian cinema. The director Youssef Chahine went to the Cannes film festival and he was enthusiastic about his own film in France. The movie did not attract much attention. So he disappointed. This movie is number 82 in the list of the 100 best Egyptian movies.
