AlRawabi School for Girls (2021–2024)

This is a well acted and well paced series that makes us take a deeper look at what it means to be a woman in any society. Yes, we have seen the premise before, but we also all seen romance movies and will still watch them.

I noticed a lot of low rating stating that the plot of is series is American and never happens to Arabic girls, but I find it hard to believe that young Arabic girls are never mean to other girls. Sounds like people being overly defensive instead of wanting to acknowledge a potential problem.

These types of stories need to be told and this series does a great job of bringing something serious to light.

October Faction (2020)

Believe all the bad reviews! I am a lover of all things fantasy and paranormal, but this show just left me annoyed. First, it took me several tries to even get through the 10 episodes, and the payoff is like eating an entire apple and finding a family of worms in the last bite!

All of the first 9 episodes jump all over the place with flashbacks and situations that have no relevance to propelling the story forward. The twins are unrealistic. The girl is overly sullen and the boy is obnoxiously overconfident. At no point do you feel attached to these characters. Their parents are cast oddly. The dad looks like he's in his 70's and the mom looks like shes in her 60s, yet they're like college age when the twins are born into their life. So they would be maybe in their 40's. They even look older than the dads parents? I guess there's a shortage on actors?!

Then the story and scenes jump all around and cut out and pick up so suddenly that you're confused about the timeline. Literally in the final episode you are waiting for some big showdown and you see the sheriff and a soldier go in a compound against an entire army....then it cuts away to several other scenes and then the same 2 people having coffee. Umm, so I guess the battle went well?? The whole thing is like a kid wrote it but forgot to write an ending so someone filled in.

If you wanna lose a few brain cells, watching this is the way to do it.

A Boy. A Girl. A Dream. (2018)

I think I died watching this

This movie could have been dont as a short film, maybe 15 to 20 minutes and conveyed the same. There are so many long moments of silence and it doesn't seem to serve a purpose or set a tone besides making the watcher feel slightly uncomfortable. This is the first time I was truly glad to see a movie end!

This has to be one of those cases where someone promised their friend they would let their teenager have a crack at writing a script! Actually Nancy Drew no else wrap up better than this movie!

Please believe all the bad reviews! Everyone has a ton of questions cuz this film is full of plot holes and unbelievable situations. I have a few questions and observations as well.....

Guy shows up uncalled to claim his "wife" after an accident, and shows a photo album( with pics that clearly look photoshopped) but not one professional asks a marriage certificate or any legal document for the "wife"? No health insurance card, no photo ID? We never find out who the tall, dark and handsome guy who doesnt know the womans name until the nurse says her last name is. Crazy stalker/"husband" isnt suspicious when woman picks bedroom lock and gets out the first time. Woman (who is now a lock pick savant) gets out several times and never looks for a weapon? Really? Woman never thinks it's odd that no friends or even ex coworkers visit her during her long surgery or hospital stay. Woman gets hurt and ends up in hospital recovering for a long while, then "home" for a bit but finds her original cell phone from the night of her accident in her stolen car still on and with ample battery?! Detective finds womans parents dead and suspects foul play all around but doesnt put out a nationwide missing persons bulletin or APB out for the guy. Then he shows up to the suspected killers house without tons of backup? The real husband's family/friends never report either of them missing?

There are too many impossibilities to list. I watched it to see if it would get better....it never did! 1 star is generous.

Crazyhead (2016)

Another great show gone....

I still cant believe they decided not to renew this show. The dynamic between the two leads was just so awesome. It took a premise that has been done so often and out a spin on it. It was exciting, quirky and witty. This is yet another show with a great rating and reviews that gets canceled prematurely. This confirms that shows dont stay on the air because they're "good" or "hits". It must be some predetermined thing, where money changed hands. I guess this is why shows like Lucifer got taken off the air at the height of its fame and popularity, while shows like desperate housewives droned on for like a decade.

I guess these reviews dont really matter either

Marlon (2017–2018)

Ok if you dont binge

Marlon Wayans over the top slapstick comedy that's pushed every black stereotype in your face is only laughable in short bursts. There are many times where there are moments and jokes that could make you laugh out loud, but Marlon keeps running with the joke about 30 seconds well past it being funny......until it just feels awkward and makes you slightly uncomfortable.

It's not really a family show since all the other characters besides the wife (especially the kids) seem like they're there as an afterthought. There's no cool lessons or anything to be learned, it's like a half hour of him just dissing people and being loud and bouncing around. That may be why he's sweating so hard in many of the episodes!

Cant believe they let it come back for a second season!

Ass Backwards (2013)

Crappy Romy & Michele's High School Reunion Imitation

This movie is a very terrible , unfunny knock-off on Romy & Michele's High School Reunion! It's like someone got stoned, watched that movie then woke up and wrote ASS Backwards thinking they had some kind of prophetic dream or something. 2 loser 30 somethings go on a road trip back to where there from to make people from their past think that they "made it" in life. At least in Romy and Michele they were kinda lovable ditzy characters. These 2 are just annoying. They should burn this film!

Chambers (2019)

So I see all these great reviews and I feel like it's some overly pretentious person who walks into an art gallery and sees an elaborately painted scene and dismisses it as mediocre, then strolls over to a plain white canvas with a single red dot in the center, then raves how brilliant it is!!

I can't figure if this is a ghost , a supernatural or a religious show. It's SUUUPER slow with a lot of build up with NO PAY OFF at the end! Even the way it unravels and the sub stories within seem awkward and like there is something missing.

I was generous with 3 stars since i appreciate the actors attempt to make this show watchable.

The Passage (2019)

Please ignore the negative reviews with people whining about the shows inconsistency from the written series! ITS IN NO WAY RELEVANT TO HOW GOOD THIS ACTUAL SHOW IS! If anything those people should complain to the author (who they had to get permission from) who gave the heads of this show creative license to adapt this show to television!

This show is great! It feels like a fresh new way to look at an old story. The young girl that plays Amy is a wonderful little actress! Overall great cast and acting. I look forward to each episode which leaves you on edge at the end and anticipating the next weeks episode. I honestly wish the season was longer.
