The Bad Guys (2022)
Just didn't hold my interest
I know it is a animated movie for kids, however it had trouble holding my interest, a lot of it just didn't work, why do some animals talk and some seem more like normal animals? How does no one notice these bad guys when they tried to steal the dolphin trophy? It felt like a mesh up of wreck it Ralph and Zootopia with a Oceans 11 for kids vibe but they fumbled it. It has to at least seem plausible even in a fantasy animation.
The Bob's Burgers Movie (2022)
Disappointed
It just didn't have that bobs burgers charm, it felt forced and the singing was bad for most of the songs. They could of done so much better with the story, I liked the art though, the vintage Carney campers and the secret hide out looked great though.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Want More
If you like far fetched action movies with awesome jets, and a actor that never ages this movie is for you, the story was well written and paid homage to the first one well.
The Batman (2022)
Batman vs ?
The music was excellent. They done very well getting all the characters stories established, however the end was kind of drawn out. The movie wasn't special enough to need 3 hrs thow. Some of it came off like a old side scroller video game with the fighting. Best part about this movie is they really got the viewers to feel the darkness a vigilante goes throw. Didn't need the cussing. It really had a criminal minds vibe.
Top Gun (1986)
Just plane fun
Not into romance but in this movie it worked well as mesh with awesome f14 fighter action. Also a awesome sound track. Had some sadness as well but it all worked well together.
Don't Breathe 2 (2021)
Just didn't have the stuff the first one had.
It was dark, had some edge of your seat shock moments but wasn't believable as the first one. It had a lot of yeah okay that could happen moments. Felt like more of a 80's action flick.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)
Don't put a ring on it
It made a decent attempt at bringing in famous game characters and had some hidden stuff for the old gamers, but the plot was weak, characters that are not game characters had parts that felt forced and kind of cringy. I do think the movies will make the kids happy and help sonic live on.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
RR 2.0
The plot was predictable but fun, what really made the movie interesting was all the cameos, and the art of meshing several forms of movie magic together.
The Lost City (2022)
Chick flic treasure parody
Made fun of popular treasure hunting movies with a cheesy love story. Waste of Sandra Bullock's talent, very disappointing. It just wasn't funny, just awkward.
The Neighborhood (2018)
Woke
This show uses comedy to view racial issues from both prospectives. There is great character building and comedy mixed in with a message that isn't one sided like a lot of shows with a agenda to educate about race.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)
Vger
The movie is a little long winded than it had to be. The uniforms our terrible but the story is everything a trek fan wants, suspense and thought provoking wonder. Great views of the enterprise, and amazing music.
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989)
The worst of all the Star Trek movies
The whole script seemed rushed and it seemed to mess with character traits that should never be messed with. There are lots of holes in this movie, and Star Trek fans where lucky to get more movies after this one.
Wild Wild West (1999)
Steam punk fun.
This movie was unrealistic, maybe a little racist, a little sexist and it didn't age well, but it sure is entertaining, with some great humor and interesting inventions. It also was trying to honor the old Westerns. I feel this film isn't usually looked at with a biased eye.
1883 (2021)
Tragic
Was this meant to show a realistic view of the travel on the Oregon trail? Was it meant only to show a prequel to the Dutton family? As beautiful and tragic as the show was, I was trying to find the point being portrayed in the show. Maybe I have to watch Yellowstone to get it. Maybe it is the pure lust for freedom driving those folks that made them risk it all, is that the point? Acting was spot on, but leaves one feeling depressed.
Uncharted (2022)
Goonies 2
I have never played the game, but as a stand alone movie I was entertained, it has some character development issues and loose ends, and one part where a throat was slashed but seemed like a scratch that was non lethal. Had a Indiana Jones/Goonies vibe, the music was great and think I will rewatch later down the road, maybe even give the game a try.
Thunder in Paradise (1993)
B movie paradise
At first I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the movie, the acting and writing started out bad, with Hulk's play fight with his friend, but when they got to the treasure and faux marriage part it started to peak my interest and when concidering the movie was basically a pilot for a TV show shows the budget they where working with, not as good as suburban Camando but still fun.
Bushwhacked (1995)
Scouts Failure
The writing wasn't good. It had a few lol moments but not enough to go back and rewatch it. Most of the time it was predictable eye rolling moments with some cringe moments. Very predictable and just didn't have the home alone slap stick vibe they where going for.
Diggers (2012)
Fun don't read to much into it
I felt like it was staged a lot, but enjoyed the excitement and the knowledge given about what was found. It wasn't designed to teach how to metal detect more of a fun treasure hunt show.
SeaQuest DSV (1993)
Star trek under the ocean
Instead of space ships you have futuristic subs, well written characters, and interesting story lines though some times it got a little weird and hard to follow.
Warehouse 13 (2009)
Very cool
This show has a Indian Jones vibe mixed with Fringe. It is basically like the Librarian series but reimagined not sure which show came first. It has fun takes on historical events and artifacts, can't remember everything about it just know I loved it and couldn't get enough.
The Simpsons (1989)
The Record
Grew up with this show and remember sneaking to watch it, and now I have to keep my kids from watching it. It is definitely adult, and not for young kids however it isn't as bad as American Dad, or South Park. It is a show that survives by making paritys of current events using the Simpsons universe. However it has a atheist under tone with a lot of fun poked at Christianity.
Bob's Burgers (2011)
Better than the Simpsons
This adult animation is the most family friendly. It features a family that owns a restaurant and depicts what adventures they get into. There is obvious some adult humor but it is normally mild. It is very easy to love the characters and root for them in their endeavors.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993)
Who knew a space station could be that interesting
This series is just as good as next gen with characters that feel like family, amazing story lines, music and acting. This series was just a bit more gritty than tng, but really won hearts with cross overs such as miles O'Brien and worf. Some of the science fiction was a little harder to believe than tng with the alien and human tech working together.
Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
Love it can't get enough.
Grew up watching this show and the characters feel like family. Of course you have a weird or bad epp once in a while but for a whole it is just awesome. The science fiction is believable, the music is awesome, acting is spot on, really makes one's imagination wonder.
Young Sheldon (2017)
Some rough edges
I understand they are following established storylines from the Big bang theory, but it is so tragic and awkward to watch the relationship issues between Mary and her husband. Also the show has a tendency to stereo type Christianity. With that being said I like all the characters and enjoy it most of the time though some times it is cringe worthy.
