Unnecessary characters, unnecessary plot, unnecessary movie
15 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I LOVE heist movies. This movie tries so hard to be one. From the forced "love angle" to the swapped gold bit at the end, none of it contributed to the plotline. Even that boat chase is unnecessary when they knew all along where to find him. This movie tries to fool you with all these "international" locations but none of it really worked.

Hart NEEDS to retire if he insists on making these things. You can't tell what role he is trying to play here. A rom-com leading man? A mentor? An action star? A comedian?

I am pissed that someone as talented and convincing as Vincent D Onofrio agreed to do such a pointless character. Similarly, Jean Reno and Gugu Mbatha-Raw deserves better movies.

It's a REALITY show NOT SEASON 2
22 November 2023
It's just ABSURD how people are so quick to rate this show so low when their basis is that it's not even related to the previous season. NEWSFLASH!!! It's a reality show INSPIRED by the series.

Come on!? Are people today really this stupid to EVEN think this is SEASON 2? The least you can do is google it and you'll know instantaneously how wrong that assumption is.

The show was OKAY, it's not great but it kills time. GREAT SET, GREAT PRODUCTION though! They went all out. The players, well it's the same rehashed stories, nothing the forward button can't fix. I'm watching it for the challenges and WILL WATCH the rest when they show it.

AGAIN, THIS IS NOT SEASON 2. IF YOU'RE GOIBG TO BE A HATER, AT LEAST BE A SMART HATER NOT A DUMB ONE.

Bake Squad (2021– )

Worth the BINGE!
15 August 2021
A baking competition, that's not really a competition.

The final product of every episode is worth the wait. It's amazing how talented these people are. I cannot imagine how their guests pick the best one since all the options are visually appealing and (I'm assuming) delicious as well.

I also enjoy the fact that there's this "team" element going on where they help each other whenever they can. Although there's a little tension in one episode where they split in to two teams, it's not like other shows where there's excessive crying, insults and drama. They "compete" for bragging rights and a picture on a wall. Even without any monetary or material prize, the four of them deliver unlike other cooking shows where you end up shaking your head after they present their final work.

It's not a perfect show though. Some conversations with their clients (even the clients themselves) are awkward, personal comments can feel forced/scripted, and obvious preparations were made. Who keeps an exact mold of their daughter's upper body just stashed in their house?

It's STILL a fun show though which I hope will get renewed.

Sidenote: Christophe the Frenchman, amazing!

Prodigal Son (2019–2021)

Imagine "Instinct" on Red Bull
31 October 2019
I loooved Instinct. The cases were gross and weird, likable characters, and interesting storylines that makes you want to keep watching. Unfortunately, it got cancelled.

If you miss that show, Prodigal Son will give you that needed fix. Tom Payne and Michael Sheen are amazing in this. Their father and son dynamic works, with the former so convincingly creepy you are just waiting for him to break. The cases are weird, which I like, with just the right mix of "whodunnit" without trying too hard. There's humor and wit in this show, but there's also that chill factor especially when you see Sheen's weirdly natural smile. This show works, and I do hope the network gives it a chance.

Zombies with Abs? Really?
14 August 2018
So apparently in a pandemic all the infected will have hard, sculpted bodies.

As a lover of hard, sculpted bodies this unfortunately is the only saving grace. I have no idea why Matt Smith, Natalie Dormer and Stanley Tucci even agree to this?! Seriously, this is the kind of movie who should be played by actors who are starring in their first roles. I had more fun watching the two Piranha movies.

If you do intend to watch this, grab some vodka and take a shot everytime you see a muscled zombie with ripped shirt and rock hard six-packs. Oh, and watch out for Smith's last narration in the end... utterly horrible. I have heard better writing from a 13-year old.
