I actually really enjoyed the first 30min. Main character has personality and an interesting backstory.

When the 3 girls entered things felt very different. Then she's like moming them. But then all of a sudden she is in the jungle. And there is a jungle guru. Weird time travel vision quest.

Very confusing and jumbled. Wish the who movie was like the first half hour.

Alot of the graphics were really interesting.

Are we implying that spiderman got his costume design from these jungle people without the jungle people existing?

Is the Spider-Man spider a decent of this Amazon spider?

Much more questions then answers.

For a low budget film it was pretty good. The acting was good for the kost part, especially the lead. The story though not original was good. It was pretty depressing but watching someone make this hard journey was thought provoking. The main character is in a bad emotional place and totally closed off and goes through the hard transition of opening up and it is painful. The character doesn't end up in a good place, but there seems to be potential.

The thing that bothered me most was the main character is sexually assaulted and it's not really talked about. It's realistic, but I would have liked to see the experience labeled outright as assault. I think many people go through a similar experience and blame themselves because they don't have the right framework to understand what has happened. I think the more media acknowledges this type of thing, the more people will be able to understand what has happened and be able to process it.

Vampire Academy (2022)

Why did they call it Vampire Academy?

If they wanted to make their own vampire story they should have just done it and called it something else. This show is like someone just skimmed the books.

The books weren't amazing but this is worse.

I liked the movie better, it was cheezy and overdramatized but it leaned into it rather then each performance being unironically overdone.

What I will say, is that I am probably not the shows target audience. I'm sure a teen looking to loose themselves in a dramatic fantasy will love it. But even then, I'd recommend the books.

Also, the sets were beautiful and I enjoyed the detail. The costumes were fin too.

The Wilds (2020–2022)

Why did they add the boys?

I understand they wanted a "control group" but the group of boys didn't add to this show. Cutting the time with the girls in half was just annoying, and if I'd wanted to watch boys on an island I could have read Lord of the Flies.

The social experiment was much more interesting just watching the girls come together and leurn to not only accept but love one another.

They addition of the older broken predatory guy to the control group did not help at all.

Most of the 2nd season I spend just wishing that the boy parts would just get done so I could see what else was happening with the other characters.

Do Revenge (2022)

I went into this movie thinking it would be a stupid cheezy blast from the past with the same meangirl plot line I've seen a million times. And it was, but it wasn't.

I liked the revenge within revenge twist, and the unexpected friendship. I also liked that straight and lesbian girls could be best friends without it being weird, cause it doesn't have to be weird. I did think the word patriarchy was thrown around a little too much. It was clear the characters were just using it as a buzz word and I kept expecting someone to explain it to them, but no one ever did.

Better than I thought. Definitely fun.

House of the Dragon (2022– )

Whats the rush?

GoT not only was beautifully shot. With wonderful acting and compelling characters but it was also complex. This show feels like its just trying to rush through some plot. GoT had multiple characters that you felt deeply for, both loving and hating. None of these characters have deep substance. Additionally we aren't following the grand and unique stories of several characters and anxiously awaiting to see how they collide. We are watching a single plot seem to race towards the end. This is visually beautiful but there is no emotional connection beyond hoping to see a glimpse of the connection to GoT.

I'm very disappointed and I hope that next time a spinoff is made they take their time crafting the characters and the plot and less time pandering to the perceived desires of the audience.

The Sandman (2022– )

I really liked this. Rich characters that were very fun and entertaining. I'll be curious to see if characters are explored more in depth if they do another season I did feel like the story went very fast. It was like being swept away. Episodes 7-10 felt like a clear plot but 1-6 felt like every episode was something disjointed, but in a good and unexpected way.

I'm curious to read the comic now.

There is some thrill and a good chunk of adventure. But its mostly drama. If you accept that is what it is, then its a fun little show. My only complaint is that I think there should have been 1 more episode with her return. The last 5 minutes didn't feel like it was enough.

Umma (2022)

I understand why people gave this bad reviews. It isn't the most terrifying. But I think its a very good story. I like ghosts as a metaphor for trauma.

Alot of the "horror" in this movie actually looks like dissociation and living through trauma memories. I think that makes it better than if it was just scary for the sake of being scary.

Charmed (2018–2022)

I loved the original charmed series. But I like this one too. The are very different. Eventually the original charmed ones wouldn't be charmed any more. I think of it as the next group of charmed sisters. This allowed me to appreciate it as something separate from the original charmed show.

The Silent Sea (2021)

I actually really like the plot. Is the science accurate, no, but I can follow most of the logic leaps which is what I expect of sci-fi.

I watched it with English dub, so I'm not sure if its that. Or perhaps a cultural difference? I thought the characters were all rather flat. The dialog was terrible.

Shall We Dance? (2004)

Of all the romance movies

Of all the romance movies I could have obsessed over in my teens, I picked this one. Honestly I think it contributed to the long healthy and loving relationship I have as an adult. There are many lines that explain what romance feels like in the long term, and the whole movie explains it. And I wanted that instead of the passionate "happy ever after" rom come all my friends wanted.

So I recommend this movie to everyone!

So, its a teen movie, I get it. Its supposed to be all dramatic and angsty. But I really hope that teens don't get the impression that their dads beating them (even with boxing gloves) is not abuse. This sceen occurs in the first 10min and I can't say I'm impressed with what follows.

This should not be a movie

The concept is interesting, but there needs to be more emotion and drama to get away with bad and confusing science. The first hour of the movie is boring and if I hadn't been stuck at home sick I probably wouldn't have bothered with the whole thing.

This should have been a book, because the main character didn't have enough time in the movie to process which means we as watchers don't get to develop feelings for his loss.

This was much more fun than I thought it would be. The plot was interesting and the general authentic was very amusing.

I thought I would be watching a creepy horror cause I honestly didn't even read the synopsis before clicking on it. I was excited that it was cheezy fun!

The first episode is kinda weird, but if you stick with it, it gets interesting.

Its actually not that scary, especially without the sound. The interesting sounds and music hold the most suspense.

I would be interested to get some of the loose ends answered.

I understand why people are disappointed in this. It lost its gritty grungy mindfudge. It feels much more like a super hero movie.

But it is a nice gateway for the next generation to experience the matrix. And like the world, it is changed and new and though some of us morn the loss of what was,things will always move forward. And I'm glad this has been brought into the future.

The story is pretty good and the action is very fun. I also enjoyed the jabs at American culture. Its so strange how the east has been saying for years what the west just seems to have figured out. But the cinematography was beautiful! Wish all action movies were shot like this.
