Interesting Premise,Great Characters
13 October 2022
I like the premise, I love the exploration of mental illness (shallow as it may have been overall), and I love these characters. I did find this movie much more amusing than many of the reviewers here did. However, it could have been so much more than what it was. While Pete and Kaley both did fantastic work, in the end, this film didn't make great use of its time in fleshing out a real story. And I would have loved to have learned more about supporting character June. Deborah S. Craig really could have taken that role and run with it. She was fantastic but underutilized. Meet Cute was a sweet, somewhat dark comedy but it could have been so much better.

Meh

This show isn't terrible but the dialogue seems to have been written by 15 year old girls. It's annoying. I really wish it was better because the premise of the show is compelling. The execution just isn't there and almost none of the characters are believable. If there's a second season I likely won't care enough to watch it when it comes out.

Surprisingly good

This was a fun movie. I wish it was 30 minutes longer because it feels short and leaves you with some questions. Maybe there'll be a sequel!

Sure, it's a tiny bit cheesy, but Anna Kendrick is a treasure. I'll be watching this movie all holiday season long.

I've seen worse, but this is D U M B. And not in a fun way. In a boring way. It was a long 90 minutes.

Underrated

Yeah, this is a weird movie. And it just gets weirder and weirder as it goes on. Someone else said the acting is both good and bad and I agree, but I think every single detail about this film and the performances therein were intentional. I don't think it's a great movie, but I think it is exactly what it was meant to be and I think it's respectable. I had fun watching it.

Watch anything else

This movie was complete garbage the whole way through. Not one bit of it was intriguing or intelligent whatsoever. None of the characters were relatable or well written. Even the "action" and "gore" were pretty ho hum. The ending was thoroughly predictable and stupid. Your time would be better spent watching literally anything else.

Cheesy and predictable, but still good wholesome fun.

It's the princess and the pauper at Christmastime. That's basically all there is to it. It's been done a million times before, but it was still fun. If you can get past Vanessa Hudgens' attempt at a British accent, you can enjoy this movie for what it is.
