As a television news producer for over two decades, Tamu's compassion for people drives her to create storylines beyond the headlines. She uses her television experience to craft innovative, thought-provoking short films.
That desire to trade in headlines for Hollywood dreams led to her first short film after an interview with the mother of Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old shot and killed by police in Cleveland, Ohio. Tamu had an opportunity to field produce an interview with his mother Samaria Rice. After that interview, Tamu crafted the short “Who’s Gonna Tuck Me in Tonight?” It’s the emotional story of how a traffic stop changes everything for a little boy and his father.
Other short films Tamu has penned include “Touch the Sky,” a powerful, dialogue-free narrative that relies on visuals, meticulous cinematography, and powerful acting to convey a message about sickle cell anemia.
After creating a news story about the dynamics of single parenting, Tamu produced a provocative short film called “First Chance.” It is the touching story of a mother who struggles with the decision to give the father of her child another chance at fatherhood. The film debuted at the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival to rave reviews.

One Last Prayer (2020)
Awesome job
I loved the movie. It was very uplifting. I enjoyed watching fresh, new faces on the big screen. I loved the moral dilemma the main character faced. I loved the funny moments in the film. The young girl did an awesome job. For a faith-based film it wasn't preachy. The script was wee-written. Can't wait to see more from Myron Davis.
