CGI worth one star
23 November 2023
I started watching this show because of the ratings here. I've never been a big Star Trek fan, but have watched a few series of it and all the movies.

This one is not Star Trek and it was a pain to watch until I had to stop watching it at the first series, episode 8. It just simply became painful.

I dunno where to put this one, but it felt like something like The Orville, but worse like it's second season.

Very bad casting overall, very bad directing in each episodes and ridiculous conversations and plots for each. Episode 8 is just the worst thing I have ever seen in a Star Trek themed show.

Srsly don't understand all the high scores here. This is trash.

Pure suffering
15 December 2022
If the intent of the anime was to make you suffer and want to die once it ended, it succeeded. Terrible...I really don't understand the hype around it. It is very painful to watch.

As an entertainment thing it is supposed to be, it totally failed me.

I'm not a big anime expert, but I watched some before and I love some. This one is something that made me think twice if I watch another one. Srsly I'm so pissed.

First episode is a blast. 23 more episodes are so boring, building up 3 main characters that could have been done in 3 episodes tops. Last episode is a huge disappontment that you already expected to happen btw, leaving a lot of questions unanswered and making all the characters built up before totally meaningless.

I regret the time I spent on this. Simply boring. Ratings here are totally misleading.

Waste of opportunity
14 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this one, but it just got worse and worse...Season 2 is such a letdown so far...

Actors and actresses are good, their talent though is wasted during the dumb plot, childish humor and the neverending cliches that fill up the story just to buy some time.

Not sure also why the creators thought that the alien in the middle of the story is no smarter than an octopus living in an aquarium, that is supposed to be their long forgotten ancestors from the past. He is so dumb, wielding unimaginable technology. They try to sell this as he is lost bec. Of emotions he never felt. Totally fails...

At the end it just really feels some children wrote the whole show...I wanted more, I really like the main actor.

I enjoyed it a lot

This was a very intense and surprisingly good experience for me. I wasn't expecting too much from it, it was a random choice to watch, but it was a very big surprise for me as well. I loved it.

Acting is good, cameraman is superb, tension is always high. At some points it is very predictable, still it manages to sell the thrill it was about to unravel. Of course they made some really stupid decisions, but it really doesn't matter at the end. The key here is the tension that it grabs at the very beginning and it won't let it go.

It is really a movie for a boring afternoon at home to make it more fun. Have popcorn, turn off your brain and just enjoy...

.... And titties... :D.

Season 3 ruined it for me...
3 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the first two seasons. Made me thrilled about the third when it started.

But it felt like a totally different one. The funny, goofy part is gone most of the time and when they try to be funny it doesn't hit and feels off. I think they took themselves too seriously and they also became very soft. Feels like a bunch of crybaby on a research/battle ship.

Also, I had the feeling that the doctor was the main character almost in every episode. Her problems are always the same and her relationship with Isaac is just going around and around way too many times that it got not just boring but it became frustrating as well. When I heard them talking about themselves and going about feelings all the time, again, and robot and feeling and robot and my feelings and robot and oh I'm such a wise woman ...I was like not again. But they did it again in the next episode.

Dang I stop here I just came whining...Was my favorite series, the ruined it for me.

Total waste of time
19 December 2021
I think Henry will ruin his career if he continues pursuing roles in adaptations of his favorite PC games and novels.

This adaptation is another boring, soulless, weightless Netflix effort just to keep subscribers. It is so damn boring, not even Henry can save it.

Dialogues are boring, acting is mediocre, the plot is totally confusing due to bad presentation and except for a very very few folks in it, roles and characters are totally forgettable as well.

Just play the games and read the books. Don't waste your time with this. I only watched it in respect for Henry. Tapping my phone until it was finally over.

The story had much more potential
12 October 2021
Everything went sideways with this one. Acting is bad. I couldn't get connected with anyone. And the whole plot reminds me of a bad anime where nothing happens, has no direction at all, but it is still going on and people still talk in it. I was tapping my phone during the last couple of episodes and I didn't miss anything. This story deserved a better screen adaptation. I'm happy it got cancelled, it was the right decision.

I didn't expect anything, it gave me a blast.

Such a beautiful story from a broken, but deeply wise man who just simply had enough. His words and thoughts resonates in many of us in today's world. It touched me deeply, very well done.

Totally not for me...
9 December 2020
I dunno, but everything Nolan touches nowadays is ridiculous... I had physical pain watching this. I usually never leave a rating on any site, but this time I had to log in. Actors and actresses are dull. Casting is dull. Action and the plot is pathetic. Conversations? Half words all the way, meaningless, makes you mad because everything in this movie is sooo unnatural in a bad way it makes your whole body ache. Avoid this at all costs.

Reminder: this title is part of something bigger (I'm just a geek from Hungary, not a publicist.)
5 April 2018
Hi there,

I strongly disagree with all the ratings below 5. People are also saying it is not even connected to the other movies. Which is also not true. You don't even have to force your imagination to see how...

I'm also unsure what people expect from low budget sci-fi movies, but for me all the 3 movies so far delivered a unique experience. And they are coherent, no matter what others say. I don't need my schools to get this. :P

This is exactly the title you should ONLY watch, once you watched the previous two before. In my opinion, that is how it delivers the full experience and makes you want a series made out of this. I love how each of the titles put something additional into the bigger picture. It is a pure sci - fi experience, and it is ways less bullshit than Annihilation was with Natalie Portman. I'm saying this because people were praising that movie for it's pure sci - fi feeling and said all the unexplained bs there is part of the experience. Now here we have way less bullshit happening, with some cool humor also hidden between the 'dramatic' scenes, and people keep criticizing it for the same reasons they were praising Annihilation.

Watch it for you yourself, consider the fact it is part of something, not a standalone. And just enjoy. If they keep continuing with the same steps by bringing out more like this in this universe, I'll be the most happy sci - fi geek in the world. :)

Yo!
