Flora and Son (2023)
Great!
I really loved this movie and wholly recommend it. The original music was *actually* good and easy on the ears which is necessary for a musical experience. All the characters were likeable, even if extremely crass. Flow of story was satisfying, moved along and got to the point. Felt some actual emotions watching it. I was a little disappointed that the love story didn't materialize more in the end. I was ready to throw the whole son away in the beginning but the movie redeemed him and the mother by bringing them together with music which is just really special. So I was focused on the wrong love story. Really beautiful.
Peacemaker (2022)
Offensively political
The last episode wrapped everything up with a lecture on humans destroying the planet by "ignoring science in favor of populist leaders who tell you that the floods and the fires are unrelated to your own actions, valuing profit over survival, treating minor inconveniences as assaults on your freedom". My jaw literally dropped when one character said that "freedom" is some "proto fascist" ideal.
I value freedom. Why is ok to disrespect and invalidate my point of view? Obviously this movie was made for the tastes of China and liberals, who share a similar life philosophy, that speech should be censored and all the humans of earth corralled into compliance with an agenda set by people who use natural occurrence to justify extreme power, wealth and social control. Why do I treat minor inconveniences as an assault on my freedom? Because you give em one inch and they take a mile. That's why.

Love
I think this show is Great. People are difficult to please. The imagery and special effects are fantastic. I just love being inside the universe they created.

Wow Jason Momoa is great
I love this show! It's such a treat. Jason Momoa is spectacular. He stays true to his character and creates unique physical movements that make you truly believe he's a *blind* hero guardian. Playing blind can't be easy, especially when doing the kinds of moves he does. Just truly stunning fight choreography. I find his delivery genuine, charismatic, empathetic. I'm a huge fan, of course from GoT, but now I see he's a for real mega talent.
