Coyote Creek Christmas (2021)
Cute movie, but plot seemed to change in the middle
I tagged this as having spoilers, but you know all the Hallmark movies are basically the same. LOL It doesn't make them any less enjoyable to watch the story in a different premise, though.
"Spoilers" below:
The premise was simple; guy goes on business trip to evaluate a prospective property purchase, but has to keep it secret from the current owners' daughter while they fall in love. Truth-be-told, the screen chemistry between the two main actors, Janel Parrish and Ryan Paevey, is wonderful and believable, just as it was in "Right in Front of Me."
Inevitably, the truth comes out, which is fine and you already know it's coming; but they made it seem like it was an inevitability that the sale would happen, that her parents had no choice but to sell. They had literally just got done pointing out that profits were increasing every year, and that the *potential* sale was a conscious choice. But, suddenly, it became "the last Christmas at the hotel," and dozens of locals checked in to the hotel in a last-ditch effort to save it - or at least stay there for one last Christmas - as though the sale MUST or WILL happen. I just think the last third of the movie could have gone an entirely different direction; or, at least, the first two-thirds could have been slightly different, setting the stage for a necessary or inevitable sale.
