Dabangg (2010)
if Hollywood can give "spaghetti western"....then Bollywood can give "eastern tadka" !!
OK the first think i would like to say is that "dabangg has no story ". yes you heard it right. then what makes this movie create such a buzz after release ??? The answer is the "Entertaining Factor". After having some major Bollywood flops this year (all of them had a story) dabangg came to the rescue.
Remember dialogs from western movie like "the good, the bad and the ugly"-"if you want to shoot ,shoot, dont talk" or " in this world there are two kinds of people my friend, one who load guns and others who dig.you dig" .Dabangg follows similar trend with funny dialogs.
The action sequences have been shot in a different manner. right from the first action sequence to the last one, you wont be disappointed with any of action scenes. stunts have been beautifully choreographed. S Vijayan(action director) has a long way to go in Bollywood .
Songs are Chartbusters ! All the 5 songs have been placed in the right moment. if you are about to feel that the movie is dragging, then a song arrives.
Finally about performances. Its Salman khan show.He has 70-80 minutes role in the entire movie. And you will love it !His style, attitude, dialog delivery is fantastic. Next is Arbaaz Khan. He still has his old style of acting which is average. But the man who gave a neck to neck competition to Salman was Sonu Sood. He was brilliant ! This handsome guy might have to spend his rest of Bollywood career as a bad boy after this performance.Newcomer Sonakshi Sinha was good looking. She was decent. Rest characters were good as they didn't have much to do.
So finally when you come out of the Multiplex, you would never think of a story. After many duds in Bollywood you witnessed one which is Entertaining. thats worth your money.
my rating 10 on 10 !
Wanted (2009)
Salman Khan proves his star Power
This movie is undoubtedly the most entertaining movie of 2009.
Hats off to Salman Khan. He definitely looks like a ferocious lion. The pace of the movie is the important thing to notice about. It will make you to watch the movie for more times.
This movie is definitely meant for the masses with cool dialogs. Style of the movie is excellent.
Last 30 minutes of the movie will make you go wild.
Salman khan excels in this role.
Apart from him, look out for Prakash Raj. He has done 200% justice to the villain's role.
The critic's reviews and the audience's reactions proves the success of this movie.
Johnny Gaddaar (2007)
best movie of 2007. must watch
A fast-paced thriller, Johnny Gaddaar is ample testimony that you can make a gripping Bollywood movie without any of the big names.
Also, as long as you have a decent story you don't have to go gallivanting around the globe filming in locales like Namibia, Australia, Switzerland or Brazil.
Without doubt, Johnny Gaddaar comes with a nice story and a tight script. No meandering or sloppy detours here.
Most Bollywood movies are unwatchable despite the presence of big name heroes and sultry sirens because of the wafer-thin stories. That is when our Bollywood bozos are not shamelessly stealing from Hollywood. Fortunately, Johnny Gaddaar is different.
In the late British author James Hadley Chase tradition of providing a strong protagonist who is usually a criminal but not really a completely evil or loathsome figure, Johnny Gaddar offers us the criminal Vikram. Bad but not repulsive and carried along mostly by the tide, Vikram holds our attention throughout the movie.
Johnny Gaddar packs all the ingredients of a fine thriller - love, crime, sexy girls, action, unexpected twists and betrayal.
Newcomer Neil Nitin Mukesh (grandson of the famous singer Mukesh) does a decent job as the young lad Vikram in a haste to get rich. Only in one crucial scene featuring a confrontation with Dharmendra does Neil Nitin Mukesh falter and fails to deliver the goods.
Besides Neil Nitin Mukesh, Dharmendra, Zakir Hussain, Vinay Pathak and Ashwini Kalsekar deliver solid performances too. Even that Bollywood clown Rimi Sen has thrown in an acceptable performance here.
The story centers around a gang of five criminals headed by Seshadri (Dharmendra) who embark on an assignment that is supposed to net them a hefty profit in just a few days.
But one member of the gang has other ideas.
He wants all the money for himself so that he can make a new beginning in a far off place with his girl friend Mini (Rimi Sen). So the double crosser sets in motion a train of events with deadly consequences for the others.
Johnny Gaddaar is easily one of the best Bollywood movies we've seen in this year.
