Where Hope Grows (2014)
Inspiring
I found this movie inspiring however, unrealistic when Amy turned up at AA and church. Would have been better if she had only been at church. The reason why is because when someone goes into AA as a newbie it's not healthy to have romantic feelings and start a new relationship. So that part of the movie was just a bit unrealistic. Other than that, good job. Great actors. We need more movies like this for families. I'm tired of garbage movies with sex and bad language and so much violence. I'm surprised this movie didn't bring in more money. Hopefully it's getting a lot of exposure now. I guess him going to AA would be a spoiler. Lol.
Blacklight (2022)
The Porsche couldn't outrun the Chevy SUV?
This propaganda filled movie is complicit to how Hollywood is so out of touch with the American people...and German sports cars.
1) Amanda, Liam's daughter...would anyone really be that ungrateful about a doting grandfather? It's so out of touch with reality how she treats her dad.
2) Washington DC does not have empty streets as portrayed in the movie, unless it's during Covid, but it's not Covid or we'd see masks on everyone. Where are the homeless people?
3) Drew dies in his beautiful red Porsche? Why? He didn't deserve that car, because he didn't know how to drive a Porsche apparently or Hollywood is so stupid they thought a Chevy SUV could outrun it.
RIDICULOUS MOVIE.
Pinocchio (2022)
Incredibly done film
I love this!! I like it better than the original. Tom Hanks was incredible as Gheppeto. I don't understand why the film is rated so low. The fairy was beautiful and sang so beautifully. I'm glad they kept the original songs in the movie!
They did try to modernize the movie by bringing up "influencers" "Chris Pine" name & sone other familiar jargon we know all too well. It didn't go too woke and I am happy about that.
The cricket is perfect. I loved that they filmed in Italy too. The CGI is incredible too.
I wonder if it was rated low, because so many people are mad at Disney right now ? This movie is well worth your time! Watch it!!
Val (2021)
This was surprisingly GREAT!
I've always liked & appreciated Val Kilmer, but didn't feel the need to learn about his life. We saw the recent Top Gun & when Val's documentary popped up on Amazon we were curious. This is the best autobiographical documentary I've ever seen!! It helped me understand the "weirdness", rather, the creative characteristics of an actor. I think actors are unique people. It's a strange career choice to me, and yet Val brings his audience deep into the trenches of his career and his soul. You witness his passion for life, for his family and for the craft of acting. I have a lot more respect for actors now, particularly Mr. Kilmer.
Val it seems, is a kind, loving soul who feels so deeply and passionately he felt compelled to put this documentary together. I mean, he videoed his life 60+ Yrs. Why? He was comfortable in front of the camera? Yes. He was constantly tweaking his craft and so it was necessary to film himself? Perhaps
To me I felt like it was insightful of him to document his life from early on. The motivation most likely wasn't for this documentary...I sure wish I had that type of forethought & could pass on an incredible life story like this...hmmm, maybe I will.
"Although I am not a creative person, because of this Documentary I now feel inspired to create some form of life history for my 4 children and the generations that follow them."
Val, thank you for your sincerity. For having the desire to share truth and the willingness to be vulnerable. You are an incredible human being. May God continue to be with you, to lead and guide you to more truths-TO ETERNAL TRUTHS. (Maybe put together another documentary ;) -Linda.
Yellowstone Cubs (1963)
It certainly was a different time...
I remember this as a child and I loved it. However, it freaked me out. I'm yelling at the tv today, "No, don't feed the bear!" "What?? Don't kids the bear!" "That geyser is Hot...noooo".
It's very sad to lose your innocence. I know too much now!! Ha
There needs to be warnings on this movie now...
Funny Thing About Love (2021)
Love Jon Heder & K-Von
These guys are funny. Loved watching the actors interact. It's cheesy sure, but entertaining. Many of the reviews took it so personal that the actors weren't engaged with the homeless when they were serving them. Lol. It's a romantic comedy...and pretty enjoyable!
Enemy of the State (1998)
1998? Patriot Act enacted 2001 or so?
The more I watch these older movies the more I realize things in America don't just happen by chance.
Good movie. Which they kept making good movies like this now.
Big Sky (2015)
Kyra
She never disappoints. Although this is a slow film..,it's worth watching. Don't expect much.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Too many plot holes
It could have been great. They could have added a few more lines in the script to fill in the plot holes. So frustrating to watch a movie when I can't just enjoy it, because it moves to the next sequence without explaining "why" in the last sequence.
