The Da Vinci Code (2006)
good
I don't get why everybody says this is such a bad movie. I mean, it wasn't the best movie ever but I quit liked it. Tom Hanks and Ian McKellen are doing great, is usual and I won't say anything about Tautu because I really can't stand her. She did well in this movie but we had to watch 'Amelie Poulain' a few years ago and then make a test and I think I got some sort of trauma about her :-). I read the book, so I saw that some parts weren't exactly the same as in the novel. But so what? Harry Potter movies are also not also the same and the audience still enjoys it. I think, but that's just my opinion, that people who really didn't like this movie are very conservative and if you wanted an exact copy from the book, why don't you does read the book again? Really, a good film for everybody who is a bit open minded.
The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
really good
I started watching this movie with the thought that I wouldn't like it very much. But I have to say that it totally surprised me and that it was really good. I knew Aaron Stanford from X-2 and X-Men: The Last Stand and I knew I he was cute but he really surprised me with his acting skills. I mean, in this movie, he isn't really hot because of the beard and so but I really liked him. And he really managed to feel with him and be scared for him. Emilie I knew from Lost and all thought I think she is really great, her role was very similar to the one in lost. The only think she had to do was cry, really. Accept in this movie it was Aaron who had a baby to look for. I can really recommended to everybody but I have to warn you that it is really scary sometimes and they didn't care about some liter blood.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
just beautiful
I saw some parts of the movie when I was looking to another movie on another channel. So I didn't really know what to think about it. But I saw him through for the first time with some friends after the Easterexams. And I loved it, he is funny, romantic, non-cliché and the songs or just so beautiful. My personal favorites are: Your Song, Elephant Love Medley and Roxanne. I got him yesterday from my Mum and I was so glad.He just so like, when you start, you can't stop watching it. The actors are perfectly casted and Christian (Ewan McGregor) is just so sweet. Really, I can recommend it to everybody, I guarantee that you will love it!
Vampire Clan (2002)
Great!
For being a movie that is based on a true story, it was really great. I actually rented the DVD because Drew Fuller was in it and I really liked him as Chtistopher Perry Halliwel in 'Charmed'. He is good looking ans someone who can really put his emotions out there. It was surprisingly good because I saw some trailers of it and I didn't think I would like it. It was good and exiting and scary. The acting was good but it was kind of yucky sometimes. There were some parts where I thought: "okay, this is going a little bit to far." But it is all forgotten en forgiven because Drew is such a hot guy! The role of the girls was really good but I think that the other characters were a little bit 'flat'. But maybe they just didn't have enough facts and it's a little stupid for making thing up.
Red Eye (2005)
I loved it!!
This was one of the best movies I've ever seen! I was already a fan of Rachel McAdams because I saw her in 'The Notebook' en 'Mean Girls' and I really loved Cillian Murphy in '28 Days Later'. It was really good, surprising, and very intriguing. The chasing scenes are so great, I got really scared several times. I actually hit my Mum with my elbow because I almost fell out of the couch. You really got into Jack Rippner. Iloved him but at the same time he scared the hell out of me. I felt sympathy for Lisa because she's so strong and so beautiful. She not the cliché 'girl in danger' and she really sticks up for herself. Really, I can recommend it to everyone: boy, girl, young, old but not to young because it's kind of scary. I watched it two months before I had to get on an airplane and I have to say, I was kind of looking forward to meet a guy like Cillian Murphy. Evil or not, I would like him anyways.
The Fog (2005)
Good
The night a watch the movie, I had just a very difficult and long school week behind me. But I have to say it didn't cause me trouble to stay awake. Okay, girls (and maybe boys too) you have to admit that Tom Welling is totally HOT! I mean, look at that body. But that wasn't the most important thing. I loved Shannon in 'Lost' so I have to say she was putting some really good acting. The acting was good (not to say great) and I loved the story. I liked the ending because it was very surprising and I liked the beginning because they used 'Sugar, we're going down' from Fall Out Boy. I can recommend it to everyone. Really good!
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
confusing
I think i'ts hard to give a proper rating because I really don't know what to think of it. I mean, I liked the movie very much but it was so totally different from the first 2 films. I mean, if this is destined to be are future, it doesn't look very promising does it. ;-) I was totally exited about X-men: the last stand, until Cyclops died. I mean, I still enjoyed it but I was really confused. I kept thinking: "Oh, he will come back. One way or the other..." Because I have to admit that Scott was really me favorite character. But he wasn't coming back, and it was so sad. By the time Xavier died, I was crying my eyes out. It's almost 24h since I saw the film and I'm still sad about it. I feel really weird, like totally dark about the future. Not that I really believe that Mutants exist but...It's just, the first film had hope at the end but this one...Totally black. We're facing one hard future if we must believe them.
A Walk to Remember (2002)
so great
Hai, I'm a sixteen year old girl from Belgium and yesterday night, the film was on air for the first time. And I watched it because there was nothing else on. And I just loved it. Normally, I am not so very into romantic films and I don't cry easily. But yesterday, by the time the movie was half way through, I found myself crying in my bed like a child.(I was watching in my room) It was so sad, I never really cry with a movie, sometimes on the inside but never like yesterday. During commercials, I had to took a box of handkerchiefs, and even when the movie was done, I have been crying for half an hour. I think this is the most emotional movie I've ever seen and when it's on cable again, I'm gonna watch it for sure. Really recommended
Vallen (2001)
Just great
I had to read the book for school a couple of weeks ago and I really hated it. I thought, and still think that it was one of the worst books I've ever read. Then, yesterday my teacher Dutch told me that we would watch the movie in class. I wasn't really thrilled about it but it couldn't be worse than the book, right? And if it was, we still should have no lessons for two courses. The first that shocked me was the hot version of Lucas. Believe me, I had a totally different image in my mind. And it wasn't good. I think all of the performances were really great, especially Koen De Bouw. I also liked the fact that in the movie, there was a love story (and a very romantic one too). I mean, that was one of the coolest kissing scenes I've ever seen. I even cried at the end, in class! My friend was making fun of me but I couldn't help it! I've been talking about it all day en now I'm writing about it... Absolutely a great film!
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
extraordinary
This was the BEST MOVIE EVER. I thought that, after the 3h movie, I was going to be disappointed. First: I thought then that was the best movie ever and second: how do you put more than 500 pages in 2 1/2 hour? I didn't see the third movie in theater because it was in the middle of my exams. But this time, I couldn't wait until the DVD came out. So I asks some friends and at the 28th December, we went. When the trailers before the movie started I had this weird shiver all over my body. It was horrible, I thought I was going to explode. Even when the movie started I was still nervous, my Coke had to support some serious claps. The tension, the waiting, it was worth is all. I mean this movie was great. Romance, action, friendship, humor, it was all there and they managed to build the tension in that strange way until you actually couldn't take it anymore. I've seen a lot of horrors and thrillers in my life, but the only movies i've ever turned my head were 'House Of Wax' and 'Final Destination'. So when I came out of the building I couldn't believe it: me, I 15-year old girl, turned her head while watching 'Harry Potter'? At the end, it was deadly quiet, no one did make a sound and everyone had tears in their eyes. I've never experienced a silence that was so filled with tension. My best friend was even eating her popcorn bag (that was really funny).
The last thing I want to talk about is the cast. That was so great: Cédric was just as I expected,so was Victor. (They were both really Hot) Harry was so hot (especially that one scene)Hermione was just beautiful in that dress and Ron didn't look bad either. I mean, how did the producers knew four years ago that they all would grew up and be so incredibly SEXY. Really.Best movie I've ever seen... I give him a 10.
Final Destination (2000)
REALLY good!
Alex is a normal kid, what I think is a change of you look at all the movies with leads that had a unhappy youth are the ones that are spoiled as hell. I think all the performances are really good. And adding 'Stiffler' to the cast was really a good idea. Because, despise it's a hard ass thriller, it doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to smile once in a while. Kerr Smith playing the jock, wasn't that smart I think because everyone knows him as "Jack" from "Dawsons Creek" as always laughing, sensitive and sweet. I saw him that way, anyway. Alex wasn't that HOT (at least not as hot as Kerr Smith) but he was really good. I must say, I was really surprised by his skills. And because he wasn't really famous, it makes the story more believable.
I saw the movie for the first time and 2001, then I was 11 so, I didn't really remember when I watched him again yesterday. Now I'm 15-year old girl who is really into movies. And I must say, this one is really great. I'm not someone who is really a believer in Faith, but now, I do believe that when it's your time, you will die. You can change the way you will and you can delay it, but eventually you'll die. That is something I learned by watching this movie. I think it will be all but I must say for the people who only read the big letters : THIS MOVIE IS REALLY GREAT! I've you wan't to see a real thriller, take THIS ONE! I give him a 9/10 ( I would give him a 10 but I can't because "Urban Legend" is my absolute favorite)
Urban Legend (1998)
SO great
Okay, first of all: movies in Belgium aren't that great. the biggest film fans under you may heard of 'the case Alhzeimer' but that's the only one that looks at something. But actually I think no one has ever heard of it. But that's beside the point...This movie was so GREAT! I just loved it. I first saw like half of it on TV and then, over a year of looking, I found the cassette in a store in a village nearby. Since then I've been watching it over and over again. The only remark I have is that, almost at the end, it suddenly stops raining from one moment at the other. And if there are more mistakes that haven't noticed, that's all forgiven 'cause Jared Leto is SOOO hot! One of my favorites, actually I think it is my favorite...And I've seen really a lot of movies.
