Give 'Em the Boot (2005)
Excellent
This DVD is amazing, the only downfall is lack of behind the scenes footage, but the live footage totally makes up for this, with so many amazing bands, rancid, tiger army, Lars & the bastards, nerve agents,f-minus, Joe Strummer and a very special live performance featuring both rancid and A.F.I on stage playing radio together. Although there are no extras the bands on this DVD make my favourite music DVD ever, i was much more excited however before i saw it due to it being called a documentary, i was hoping for interviews and such. Tim Armstrong i salute you. As Joe Strummer himself called you, you are a punk rock warlord.
Essential viewing.
Rude Boy (1980)
Rudie Can't Fail
Brilliant, if you forget the narrative and focus on the clash footage featured. It has the right message, punk is opposed to racism, which at the time was not always the case, there was lots of Nazi punks. I would have liked to have seen more footage of the race riots. The recent death of Joe Strummer adds a degree of poignancy to this wonderful relic of late-1970s London. Rude Boy distills the essence of the Clash in their prime. I spend hours watching the extras which feature over 20 life clash performances, including four different white riots! Any clash fan needs to own this DVD, also recommended: west-way to the world, and essential clash.
