Drink when he looks stupid
I'm a little late to the bash this film review party so I decided that since most of the awfulness has been discussed I would focus only on Cage's look. And decided that the drinking crowd might enjoy an adaptation of the Star Trek drinking game for this film.
Take a drink every time Nick gets a close shot of his "I'm a troubled soul, faced with dilemmas, and a gift....that's more... a curse" look. You won't be disappointed, or sober for long.
There's one scene where a student of Liz's tells her that Chris likes her and he can tell because of the way he looks at her...And there it is. Slam time.
Skeleton Man (2004)
Good actors. Bad movies.
I caught this film upon awakening one night with the volume down on the TV. I saw Michael Rooker and thought maybe this was a decent film I missed. Then after 5 minutes realized I didn't miss a thing.
Anyway, it made me think of a thread concerning good actors appearing in bad films when you would think they would have enough experience and professional guidance to avoid the flops.
I'll start with Dennis Hopper and Rutger Hauer. Two actors who have shown excellence and appeared in great films, but all too often show up in real garbage.
And no bashing of Michael Rooker please. Two words. Rowdy Barnes.
Bloodline (2004)
90 minutes wasted
A film so bad that halfway through I found myself wondering if the production company could have gotten away with paying the actors who portrayed Henry less for a non-speaking role (the character is mute) rather than following the story.
Perhaps you think it will be different for you, maybe you're too cool for the room and able to appreciate the finer aspects of the struggling low budget film that still respects the art man. Well let me ruin it for you. Henry kills a kid and brother Travis kills some other kids, then they don't but then Travis does and Henry doesn't then I turned it off and thought how I could have better spent my time.
