Images that will stay with me for a long time
13 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When I decided to watch the Green Mile, I already knew I was going to watch a good movie, rated one of the best of all time. My standards, therefore, were reasonably high. What I did not know is the fact that I was going to watch 3 electric chair executions - with a fair amount of suffering shown on screen-, executions of characters we grew to love throughout the whole film, one of them burnt alive and another proven innocent. What I did not know, moreover, is that I was going to watch pictures which reshaped the way I think and which will stay in my mind for a long time. This movie made me rethink the society we live in, the contrast between a legal and a moral act and the rarity of people like John. Gripping and touching story, unforgettable pictures.

Fleabag (2016–2019)

Tears after laughter and laughter after tears!
8 April 2020
Prior to starting this series, I had never heard of Fleabag, nor had I heard of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, as it was neither on netflix, nor on any other popular streaming platform in my country.

After watching Fleabag, I realised how much I was missing not knowing about a series like this and I am a million times grateful to have come across the ultimate genius called Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

This series is so well-written, intelligent and touching in a weird way, that sometimes you find yourself crying after a hard laugh, laughing after just wiping your tears or maybe having both a good cry and laugh! (I'm definitely gonna show this if anyone ever asks me to define tragicomedy).

It manages to be unexpected, while finding complex but simple at the same time ways to catch you by surprise or give you exactly what you want.

This show is a big win, and I'm sure you'll notice it too after watching it!

You feel every second of it
8 January 2020
When it came out, everyone expected a mainstream gay love story movie, or a bad adaptation of the book, but it soon turned out that this movie had no need of dystopian predictions. I could eternally speak about how good the image, the music or the actors were, but I will point out one thing; it managed to make the viewers feel everything, as if they were in the actors' shoes. Doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man, if you're straight or gay, if you live in Italy or not, if you're 17 or 47, you just get the feeling!

Only defeat is that it feels like there's a big age gap between the characters, even though there's actually not so much, and makes it kind of unrealistic (although love has no age apparently).

Interesting
8 May 2019
I know most people say that it has an interesting starting and then it runs slowly, but maybe these people have not seen the episodes 4-8. As far as I am concerned, I find the pace okay, as it gives us the opportunity to get to know the characters and mostly the testers, as well as it provides us with an interesting plot. So people: stick to the show till the end, and give it a chance, even if you find it dull. Of course, maybe it just fits better to me and not all people have the same taste. Definitely recommended to french learners, as the vocabulary is quite simple and they use a lot of everyday language which will help you to get familiar with the pace of the language.

Sex Education (2019–2023)

Real and unique
8 April 2019
One of the few tv series which do not hesitate to talk about a huge taboo topic, like sex, as real as it is. At first, i thought it would be an extremely awkward approach of the topic, as we're used to, but in fact there was not even one moment that I felt uncomfortable. It does not lack of humour, happy and touching moments and I was more than happy to see that homosexuality and diversity subjects in general were presented and approached as they should be. Moreover, I really enjoyed the fact that it was not a typical american teenage drama and it combined today's Britain with some aesthetic '80s vibes. As a teenager myself, I can tell that this show is very educational other than just a flat (however great) teenage show. Of course, in reality, things are not 100% as they are presented, as love and sex are considered sometimes more' close' topics but this show managed to be real in another way. Definitely recommended not only to teenagers but also to older and mature people who have the opportunity to see things from another point of view.

You won't be able to take your eyes off the screen
27 September 2018
Prison Break is an adventurous and extremely interesting show which contains a fair amount of intelligence. It makes you think, cry, and experience the feeling of triumph in more than many times and you embrace the main characters from the first view. However, as it happens in most TV series, not all seasons are at the same level, but I really urge you to continue watching because there is a strong comeback in season 4. Even if you don't like action series (like me), this is the one you search for.

Good but not so accurate
27 August 2018
I'm Greek and I found this a pretty fun movie but it was not so accurate. It was all an exaggeration with some mistakes in behaviour, language, food and lifestyle. All Greek families are so big and fussy but not in this way. I found some similarities but still it needed some more original Greeks for this to work out.
