Betting on the Bride (2017)
Predictable and pandering
For one, it's very predictable from the very start, and secondly (spoilers ahead if you somehow managed not to predict it would happen), the whole movie leads up to the chick marrying her love interest as soon as she starts to think she likes him. They've known each other, what, 3 weeks, tops? And none of that time was spent dating, she just kissed him, thought, "I think I like him" and proposed to him. Stupid. They tried to make it a typical female fantasy, but in all reality, who actually wants to marry someone they haven't even gotten to know?
Slumber (2017)
Pretty Good
Compared to the lame crap being peddled as horror these days, this was a decent movie. Because so many newer horror movies are so bad, I went in with low expectations, and maybe that's why it seemed so decent, but overall, I enjoyed the concept, the acting wasn't the worst, and the demon was reasonably creepy. The twist at the end was a nice touch.
Before I Wake (2016)
Unexpected
This is the sweetest horror movie I've ever seen. Jacob Tremblay is heart-wrenchingly adorable in this movie and the character he plays is such an empathetic, sweet little boy, to the point that I was tearing up occasionally.
