What a joy to watch
16 September 2009
LOOOVED this movie.

I found it so enjoyable to watch and actually had tears in my eyes from a particular scene which included a Doberman (won't say more). I also teared up from an emotional, tender scene with Carl and Ellie.

The animation breathtaking, extremely funny and quirky too. It didn't pander to children i.e a kiddy movie, but made sure it entertained 'kids' of all ages.

I actually wondered if the writers of this movie got together one night for pizza and beers and penned out this movie whilst a little intoxicated. It's got some seriously good laughs!

Can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

I highly recommend this movie.

Joe's apartment full of laughs

I wonder why it got criticized because to me the worth of a movie is how you react to it.

I first saw it on video in 1996 and I can tell you that we had to watch the intro three times because we were laughing so damn hard.

Even the 'mother' of the house was constantly telling us to shooooshhhh because we laughed so loud.

Never has a movie had me laughing so loud.

Now 11 yrs later, my 5 yr and 6 yr old boys watch it and get a huge laugh out of it. They love to see the roaches singing and dancing..

So if anyone cans it, they can go to buggery because we all get a lot of laughs and entertainment out of it.

Boo (2005)
5/10
Wow ..scary... not

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, this movie was badly acted. I had absolutely no compassion or empathy for the characters, and when (geez I didn't even remember the names) the girl is shot, there's initial shock but then it's completely forgotten and on they go with the task of getting out.

Dog Soldiers was a great movie, scary and also very funny... I assumed that "Boo" would at least be along the same theme.. a little bit tongue in cheek but I was wrong.

Actually I think I saw something in the movie which wasn't part of the script. Just before what's her name gets shot, the blonde dude and the others are arguing. I could have sworn I saw something float up into the air beside him. I found that more intriguing than the whole of the movie!

Hire it with a bunch of cynical friends and pick it to death, trust me...that's more entertaining than watching the film.

Any Time Now (2002– )

We are up to the last episode here and I thought it was such a great series. It's quirky and I loved the fact that each character wasn't stereotyped and had some rather obvious flaws.

Emily (the gold digger widow) was beautifully portrayed and left you wanting to ring her bloody neck! At the same time she showed her treachery, she seemed cool as a cucumber, smiling all the while... I hoped she got her just desserts.

Beautifully filmed, which gave someone in another country a good idea about how others live in different countries. It was intelligently portrayed with a great script. This show is not to be missed and it's a shame that the ABC here aired it from 11pm. Shame!
