The Good Doctor (2017)
Glad it's cancelled!!!
It's about time this stereotypically offensive show is cancelled. It's like they opened a book and picked the most obvious way of portrayal and went with it. The autistic community deserve to be involved in portrayals, why are you telling our story without us? I've heard autistics are actually banned from set too. Not to mention that Highmore actively supports autism speaks who are a polarising hate group. Autism portrayals like this are the reason I'm prejudged when people hear I'm on the spectrum and let me tell you, it's not okay at all! We deserve better. Support Monday Blues instead. That's an upcoming show by an autistic creator, writer and actress. Also, dear neurotypicals, please stop speaking like you know what autism is like, even second hand, you don't know what it's like.
Heartbreak High (2022)
Actually autistic representation!!!
A show that actually listens to autistic voices instead of suppressing them. This is the first time I've ever related to a character so much. Quinni is amazing and so is Chloe Hayden. Episode "Angeline" is literally the truth of what it is like being autistic in the modern world and the challenges we face when it comes to ableism. The fact that Chloe got a say in the character, that is the future! <3. After the last few years of ableism the community has faced this is exactly what we needed. It's heartwarming. The performance is so amazing and I can't fault it one bit. It makes me proud to be autistic and helps me feel more accepted!
