Interceptor (2022)
A fantastic movie to rip to shreds
Put simply: Extremely hard to take seriously in any capacity. The plot line is predictable and fails to follow it's own logic, but it's backed up by a leading cast who do a terrible job playing the most paper thin characters you've ever seen. The only redeeming quality in my opinion is Luke Bracey's performance as the main antagonist. Despite the terrible writing, he was entertaining in his portrayal of Alexander. As for Chris Hemsworth... why was he even in this film again? You can cut his character entirely and lose absolutely nothing.
Save yourself the trouble and do not watch this film.
Ben 10 (2016)
Off the cliff.
It's largely agreed upon that every Ben 10 sequel has been slightly worse than its predecessor. Alien Force was worse than the original, Ultimate Alien being worse than Alien Force, and Omniverse being the most controversial sequel because of its change in art style and plot thanks to the characters canonically re-writing their own universe. Then this reboot happened.
This reboot was the straw that broke the camel's back. If every other sequel was a slow, downhill slope, this jumped off the cliff. Any semblance of the original art style is completely gone in favor of this new soft style Cartoon Network seems to like so much. Then, we get to take Ben's character and water it down into all the jokes and terrible personality traits the first show used as comic relief. You'll never get to see any character depth or grown because the episodes are now only 11 minutes long. This is hardly enough to put together any semblance of a plot for the episode, with hardly any leftover time for anything not expressly important.
This has become another sad reminder that the golden age of Cartoon Network is over. Amazing shows like Ben 10, Ed Edd n Eddy, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends are long gone, replaced with the mind numbing garbage we see today. Granted there are exceptions to this, such as Steven Universe. Unfortunately, this isn't a review of Steven Universe. The classic Ben 10 is dead. This killed it.
A.I.C.O. Incarnation (2018)
Somewhere in between fantastic and good.
While I agree that the english dub version, let's just say- could be improved, it had a lot good going for it. The story is enough to keep the viewers attention, and there were more than enough plot twists and story details to keep me interested. While I don't think this was a truly fantastic anime, I do think it's worth the watch. Just don't watch it in the english dub.
