Whoever wrote this did not live through the Cold War or the 80s
24 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Nothing in this really seem like 1984...and what did was contrived. And in 1984 the Cold War was not between the USA and Russia, it was between the USA and the USSR! The USSR didn't dissolve until 1991! Jeez, it's not even ancient history. You could've just asked anyone over 40!

Perfect Mystery
19 May 2021
Usually old movies are mimicked in later movies or television programs to the point that you know what's going to happen and makes the movie blasé. I had not been spoiled for this movie, and I'm so happy I wasn't - I did not see that end coming! A perfect mystery and film noir. Great movie!

Real to life!
10 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The scene where Maggie is tearing apart Mitch's office looking for passwords and frustrated because she's put on hold and continually transferred mirrored my last summer when I was trying to deal with my mother's estate. If anyone actually reads this comment, my advice to you is make sure you have your crap in order before you die. Have wills up to date, beneficiaries listed properly, etc. Don't leave that headache for your heirs.

How is this PG?

I'm sorry, but how can this be ok for children when in the first 5 minutes you have seen two people's bared bottoms? I would never expect that in a Jane Austen adaptation. When I watch JA, I expect it to be on the wholesome side with a little cheekiness, but not literal cheeks! I don't even have kids and I shut it off at that point. I would've been embarrassed to show this to my young nieces; I'm glad I checked it out first. I'm sorry, but IMHO not everything has to be true to life to have value or be entertaining.

Saw it on TV
6 November 2020
I watched it for the music, dancing, and because everyone said it so horrid (including those in it). I didn't care about the CGI (which is creepy at times...wished they'd worn ballet slippers instead of bare feet). I have never seen it on stage. I saw the TV version of the stage version. It bored me to tears. This one actually kept my interest and helped me understand what the plot of the original was. Was it favorite movie, no, but I'd probably watch it again.

Jennifer Hudson was absolutely wonderful!

Warning: Spoilers
Seriously killer clowns and hordes of spiders? Why didnt you add an old time ventriloquist dummy while you were at it? All my biggest fears in one episode...I won't be sleeping tonight.

WANTED: NEW WRITERS
13 January 2020
If it weren't insulting to monkeys, I'd say you've hired monkeys to write this drivel!

Why do you keep ruining story arcs? Do you honestly expect us to believe the Doctor finds out the Master destroyed their home world and she goes on vacation? That instead of finding what the Master was talking about she would give her companions a tongue lashing about climate change? REALLY?

This is like last season when you finally had an interesting baddie in the episode Rosa - a guy who wants to subtlety change history for sonne nefarious reason - but then you never mention him again. I thought there would be a great arc about cleaning up his mess, or at least finding out what his ultimate plan was, but nope. Instead you bring back the tooth fairy warrior who was less interesting than watching paint dry.

And I'm absolutely tired of the weekly civics lessons. This show is supposed be escapism. If I want to know how horrible human beings can be to the planet and each other, I'll just watch these news!

Get new writers!
13 January 2020
Why do these writers keep ruining perfectly good story arcs? Last week the Master destroyed Gallifrey, and then you give us this garbage? Do you honestly expect us to believe the Doctor wouldn't have been all over figuring out what the hell happened? Instead you have her giving her companions a tongue lashing about climate change! Really? It's like last year's episode about Rosa Parks where you had this guy who was trying to destroy history, which would've made an awesome story arc, but we never heard about him again. Instead you brought back the tooth fairy monster for the season ender, and he was a ridiculously uninteresting baddie to start with! A 5 year old could write better storylines! I'm also tired of the weekly civics lessons! This is supposed to be escapism, not the nightly news!

A lead I can respect
10 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What I liked most about this is that Kate isn't the stereotypical "city girl". She's real. She knows life isn't about how much you have materially. She isn't constantly whining about what she lacks living in the Seregheti, but makes do with and appreciates what is offered (except the coffee, but as a coffee drinker who has traveled, too, this is also real) . She never says, "Well back in the States...", but instead has humor about the cultural differences. She gets in there and helps even without being told or expecting material gains, yet she never assumes to know better and listens to what she's told and actually does it that way. I wish more entertainment depicted women like this instead of whiny, self centered princesses complaining about everything that's not like what they're used to.

I was just thinking of this premise...
22 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
People are writing that this has the same premise as a previous TV show. I don't know about that, but there was an 80s movie that I thought recently would be an interesting remake...D.A.R.Y.L. I've missed the original airing on ABC and am catching up on Hulu. So far I like it. Hope it holds up.

Why Canceled??????
28 September 2019
Just finished watching this on Netflix and am in tears after the cliffhanger. HOW WAS THERE NOT A SEASON 3?? If there is any way to get the same people involved and keep the story writing the same, please bring it back! NETFLIX, just don't do to it like you did Designated Survivor...you ruined that!
