Pearl (2022)
Really Liked X, Loved Pearl
The setting of 1918 Texas was such a breath of fresh air for the horror genre. Academy level performance from Mia Goth that will of course get snubbed because the Academy has a stupid bias against horror.
Very disturbing and heartfelt and always kept my interest. Truly feels like Joker meets The Wizard of Oz. The production design and costume design were impeccable and I never ever felt like I was not in 1918. The ending will leave you chilled to the bone and you may not be able to eat pork for a while lol.
If you liked X, this is an incredible companion piece that expands the story but with a different flavor.
Morbius (2022)
Worst Comic Book Film to Date
Worse than Ant Man & The Wasp. And that's saying something. This movie is an L to the Nth degree. Shame on you Sony. Jared Leto should be banned from comic book movies and probably from society. Morbius tries to suck on the teet of the MCU but ends up simply sucking balls.
Shame.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
I can't even write a review
I'd say just go see this movie with as little information as possible. One of the most creative and insane films I've seen. Emotional and very intelligent.
An Instant Masterpiece!
Mr. Robot (2015)
Replaced Breaking Bad as my All-Time Favorite Series
Hands down the best show I've ever seen. I don't really wanna say anything else. The pilot will hook you and you won't be able to let go.
The Boys: What I Know (2020)
WHAT A SEASON FINALE!
Absolutely incredible season finale that ties up the first two seasons really well and sets up season 3 in such a shocking, satisfying, interesting and dramatic way. I wish season 3 was out next week lol
South Park: The Pandemic Special (2020)
One of South Park's Best!
A true satire on the insanity that has been 2020. Hits everything you want it to and more! Absolute psychotic hilarity!!
Hunters (2020)
Wow!!
This show is gripping from the very start. Extremely well shot, great world, great characters and truly makes you feel the horrors of war and hatred. You may think Nazi hunting films and shows have all been done before but this really is a breath of fresh air
The Irishman (2019)
"Only Three People in the World Have One of These... And Only One of Them is Irish"
A very lengthy film, but an epic gangster saga with three terrific lead performances, Scorsese's impeccable direction and brilliant dialogue. I think this film will age very well despite the film running about 30 minutes too long.
Silicon Valley: Exit Event (2019)
A Phenomenal Finale
Truly a bittersweet ending. Smart, surprising and truly makes me love the characters all the more. The last scene made me almost choke up. Love this series so much!
Barry (2018)
The Best Comedy Right Now
I'm really impressed with this show. Bill Hader should be taken seriously as both director and co-writer, and of course she KILLS it as Barry. He's very sympathetic, hilarious and legitimately believe as a badass hitman/Iraq war vet. This show combines, dark comedy, drama and action perfectly and all the characters are wonderful presences on screen. I don't dislike one character. Themes of free will, purpose, life, death, art, etc. are handled very well and actually make you think about your own life. This show is way better than it has any right being. So impressed.
Joker (2019)
The Next Level Of Comic Book Film
This movie is the definition of GRIPPING. From the first frame to the last, no thoughts entered my mind (an extreme rarity).
The directing by Todd Philips is masterful, the cinematography is breathtaking (Must See In IMAX {utilizes the full IMAX aspect ratio like Infinity War and Endgame}, the plot keeps you on your toes at ALL TIMES, but you're all waiting for the word on Joaquin Phoenix as Joker. Easily, one of the Top 10 performances I've ever witnessed. He simply doesn't exist during this movie. He completely disappears as Arthur Fleck.
And yes, this film is very dark and disturbing. It is not the most grotesque film, but the way the disturbing elements are executed is shockingly surreal. You will want to take a moral shower after watching.
