I get we've all seen the plot, story, and landscape several times but this movie has teeth. Since Covid movies as well as movie lovers have taken a hit. Willis, Hauser, Gibson, and many other one time A list actors have lent their names to piles of crap B movies that the B now stands for BAD.

Every once in a while you'll get a pretty good flick that has some grit & resemblance of what independent movies once were. I'm not saying Masterpieces are being created, but you're going to find a gem every once in a while and imo this rectifies the search. I've found a few since the real movie drought of the past few years and it also helps I like this genre of movie. Dirty, Southernish hillbillish white trashy drama action. Dorff, Travolta, Dillion are not just going thru the motions for a check, their acting chops are out. Stephen D was great! He always seems to steal a scene no matter what scripts he's given and earns his. Some other movies like this that aren't advertised much are often hit or miss, this one is Hit to me anyhow. Low ratings don't do this movie justice for a couple reasons, one if you wanted to see a movie in this genre then it's better than expected and two if you watched for the popular actors They All did a good job.

Some other suggestions as independent non advertised gems that if you liked this one. These also came out in the last couple of crapola years of movie making but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed: 1. The Stranger 2. Ida Red 3. The Dry All 3 imho are also done decently Well.

It's hard to find this movie, I attended a prom of my girlfriend in Mississippi where none other Ralph M attended with his cousin while filming this movie.

This Film amazes me that most people young or old have no idea it exists. A journey through the Blues scene in Country Mississippi with a Seasoned blues man and a classical guitarist both trying to find themselves and fulfill contracts. A wonderfully told movie with a authentic blues and top notch musicians doing their craft. One is a Boy wanting to learn everything Blues and the Old man that's been there done that trying to teach him while settling old business. A Underrated Classic, if you love guitars, blues, and a well told adventure, that ends Magnificently- look no further "Crossroads " is it!

If you've ever been a degenerate gambler or been to the track as a self anointed great gambler than there's no way you wouldn't love this movie. Every actor is point ON, a little over the Top but not completely unbelievable. These characters exist maybe not all in a group but they damn sure exist. I have this movie in my collection and have seen it several several times and never tire of it. Dreyfus is perfect, Gar is sensational and the cast is hilarious. Brilliantly written and some superstars making their way.

One helluva of a day in the life of horse racing Rats that live at the track. To the viewer it seems that the chaotic day is a memory that each involved would never forget, but to these characters it's another day at the track. And to one " I'm having a pretty good day". I love this movie and appreciate it more and more ever time I watch it, so push play and LET IT RIDE!

A Good friend of mine told me to watch this, I couldn't commit at the time, after almost 3 seasons in I started season 1 and the quick Binge was on.

The acting in this is Superb, Mr C, Barry, Sarah,Hank are outstanding and S Root is always great NO matter what characters he dives into.

I love this Show and SEASON 2 Ep 5 is 28 minutes of the BEST unbelievably believable a touch of non fictional fiction I've ever seen, Funny, Violent, Intense, well yes believable fiction that when watched is something that could never you know happen per se but if it did this is EXACTLY the way it would go. Excellently written show. One of my goats, Series is great also.

One of the most fascinating people in Small-town America. This move I was a wee pint when it came out and later saw it, and was enamored ever since. Some of the truth was dramatized and a lot of the truth was not shown to protect the innocent. There's 3 Walking Tall movies and the real Buford Pusser was on set to be a consultant at the right hand of the director and screenwriter. Actually Buford was to Star in Part 3 but was killed by the Dixie Mafia during filming . Now that's what I call true story, not during the actual movie but around the same time. It hasn't aged well but for a 70s B film it took the nation by storm. A Cult favorite that was raw and true, not just based on a true story but the actual events told by the man himself. I've never forgotten this movie though I was a kid, I now have the whole set. Walk Tall and carry a BIG Stick! Fascinating story!

I just noticed I never rated this or wrote a review. I'm not much on vampire movies or sci-fi, it seems to me once you've seen the best of the vampire genre it's hard to tell the difference, though a couple (Let the Right One In, Abe Lincoln:Vampire Killer) were outside the box and I enjoyed them both.

This Franchise to me was a different take on the whole genre between Vampires & Werewolves. I absolutely fell in love with the series. The Cinematography and Lighting is my favorite, it adds a gloomy but scary atmosphere to the flicks. Bill Nighy IS amazing my GOAT of the Long Tooth Villains. His acting and his appearance keep bringing me back to these. It also helps I had a serious crush Kate B forever, this movie only enhanced it 😂 The visual of this movie is so satisfying on the big screen or now on my 73" HD+ with the DVD/BlueRay. They are on today and I'll watch them all again...... but if you're into The Vampire/Werewolf thing and have not seen this do yourself a favor and watch with Hig-Def UHplus or whatever you'll not be disappointed.

This movie is one of my all time, Robert Hansen was one the least known, but most hideous kind of criminals that endangered the entire United States that 90% of the people know nothing of.

Beautifully written and taken as truth because the real Hansen, has been in solitary confinement ever since he's been caught for 24 hours a day with one hour to exercise outside his cell. Cooper has always been a TOP actor but also has been a character actor but this time steals the show. Oscar worthy but just picked the wrong year 2007. There Will be Blood, No Country For Old Men, ate up the awards. Great suspense, great direction, tension, all you need to have for an intelligent movie with adult dialogue, riveting. I've seen this a 100 times and can watch it a 100 more. Great Acting Great Movie, Evil Man Evil Intentions, Cooper at his Best & Ryan P good probably his best since CI.

This is the second crime thriller Aussie movie in two years and I'm becoming a fan. At first I was hesitant because it's hard to keep up with the accent in dark gloomy quiet dialect that these movies need to be authentic, but we do have subtitles, although sometimes they(subtitles) take a little bit out of the viewing experience.

The acting in this movie is brilliant from the leads Edgerton and Harris. Based on a true story, I knew nothing about but I didn't want to be familiar with it as to not spoil any happenings of the film. I loved this movie, it's slow but you better follow along or not miss anything because you'll miss something that ties it altogether.

The other Aussie crime thriller is The Dry and I'm beginning to love these and will be far less hesitant to watch the next one. The Stranger is tension building acted with excellence that I watched twice and picked up several things in the rewatch after that makes more sense duh the second time. It's a hard watch for the subject but done well. The ending could've given more finality as far as info of the characters but still a solid 9.

I love music but surely I'm not into the hip blues jazzy scene which I imagine the other 95% of the population is not either. So I decided to give this a go because I am into movies and I try to watch them all. JK Simmons is absolutely without a doubt worthy of his OSCAR, you can not keep your eyes off him. He is mean, obnoxious, passionate, tough, and definitely loves his craft. It's kinda watching Michael Jordan play basketball, you know how to do everything he does, but you don't have the TALENT to accomplish it, so you critique every move and especially the mistakes. In other words you know HOW to do it, except you don't know HOW he does it which creates petty animosity. It brings you back to the realization if you had HIS talent you would've been better than the original. Even though I'm not into Jazz, the acting, directing, editing, and overall feel of this movie makes you forget it's anything but a GREAT movie. JK Simmons is well worth the watch alone and this movie ranks right up there with the 10s!

The book was awesome and the screenplay did it thumb up. During the Covid hiatus, Movie Buffs and Watchers took it to the chin. Movies well SUCKED to put it mildly, but the gem was a diamond in the ruff. E Bana a pretty solid actor was Solid in this murder mystery his best since Munich. Thanks guys, Actors, Directors, Screen Writer, and Crew for making one of the best movies of the 3 year span of $h1t that was put out during Virus movies. It was a little long but how could you mind after being put through Comic book heroes and hand held camera directors flooding demand or STV garbage for 33 months. The sad thing was a lot of people, this was the time to sit at home and watch movies. Thanks to "THE DRY" it was not only the best of this time but also a pretty damn good movie at any time. I would've given at 9 regularly but deserved a 10 for at least being a real movie.

I love this movie even though I know it didn't dive deep into some forever historical happenings such as the JFK or MLK killings, but all the history Hoover was involved in would take a series. Clint's movies with history are some of the best. Leo & Armie did an outstanding job acting, and their relationship was done tastefully. I've seen this movie several times and always enjoy. J Edgar was a conniving, conceited, brilliant, diabolical, and complicated man with a top spot in American history. The FBI whether you like them or not was a great venture created by Hoover. Fingerprinting was laughed at by most in the policing industry but is still a Vital tool used today to solve a slew of crimes.

That is right into to my top 10 of all time. It is intense, supremely acted, written, and directed. I don't really like to rank shows they're either good, watchable, horrible, or like Ozark falls into GOAT category. I love this show, and if you understand what it's about before watching it and it's your cup of tea , there's no way you won't love it also. It now ranks up w/ GOT, BB, YStone, Friday NLs, imo. Thanks OZARK!

A beautifully written and expertly acted movie, I was still young and immature when this came out. I was still into sports, clicks, girls, and partying. I've always loved movies but more of the comic, sports, and action type guy. Since then I've seen 1000 of movies and try to watch them all, give them all a chance. This movie meant squat to me when it came out, but as I matured and became a man with a family, happiness and sadness you really understand the hardship of movies like this. It is real and is tough to watch but there are people in these situations still today and worse. I've now seen WEGG 4 or 5?times and it is always made me Thank God everyday for the blessings of my life Good or Bad. Life is tough and artfully this movie packs a punch, done with an excellent charm and sadness that'll make you smile, cry, and give thanks.

I mean not finally the greatest movie, but a Movie not involving Super Heroes or sci-fi space, or tin foil caps. Just a good drama movie made with good film. Matt is one of my mcs so I always thinks he delivers here, but bias aside he does. Good acting by all, hadn't no idea til it's over but Matt's daughter in movie was Miss Little Sunshine she's good also. Thanks Hollywood for a movie I didn't have to spend 300$ on advertising, I'll take a solid movie, solid story, a bit of a twist acted wonderfully anytime.

Not fast moving movie, but a lot of good character development throughout. It's a believable time scape, tough life, hard living anyway let alone the adversity of the life. Tim Blake Nelson makes me laugh, but did a wonderful job as no nonsense tough farmer raising a son alone. Oscar worthy imo. Great script, done before but with a twist. I love good believable westerns and this Was That! Great cast. Indie that sneaks under the radar because westerns a hard to find this good and authentic.

I remember being in college when all his was going on back in the day. We made jokes and these TV evangelist were in their hay day and all in pop culture. As I got older and understood more , read more, and reasoned and matured mentally, JB was a bad dude and I Believe Tammy really loved the Lord and thought she was doing right for her viewers and people, I really do. I saw Tammy Faye years later in a Reality Show, she was the same naive spunky loving caring gullible lady still praising God. My wife and I loved here in this show, she never changed still loving the Lord. Chastain played her to a T and shows why she is one of the best female actors in the world, she was Tammy Faye. If they give Oscars for the best acting performance in film then she definitely deserves a Nominee if not the Trophy. Even though the movie doesn't delve deep into the seriousness of the crimes, this is probably the way is was seen through TAMMY's Eyes. She paid for her sins with pain and a broken heart and I'm sure is in heaven. The acting was very good.

Has just made the Top 5 of my all-time worst, lousy, and WTF was this movies. You can not be Serious, to write a favorable review of this movie if you've ever seen another movie, any movie. This is another reason Covid is the worst, because people are allowed to make this type of CRAP and call it a movie. We should make everyone who rates this movie (I call it that with disdain) above a 1 to have to watch it with whom ever takes their rating seriously. This Garbage should be some sort of crime punishable by jail time. My GOD how can people be allowed to review movies if they think this is good, it's not even bad it's horrible. Dear people in charge of this Page please make reviewers take some kind of test to make reviews. The hell with the first amendment if you think this abomination is ok, good, not bad, a little bad, or even watchable you should have your rights revoked. Seriously anyone ..... Into sci-fi fantasy, but a few episodes in you don't even realize it, the Excellent acting, writing, directing and cinematography makes this a Movie you never want to end. For 8 seasons it doesn't and definitely goes down as one of the Best TV shows of all time. In my top 5, just watched it again and except for Season 8, it was almost my favorite. A 10 if ever there was one. 10!!!!

Of all the crap we've had to deal with in Movies, since the Covid took over every aspect of our lives whether infected or Forced , Quality of movies has really suffered also. Actors are trying to work at a fevered pitch taking any role to make ends meet in the sense of an actor's ends. Independent films are always gems, best movies without all the Hoopla. This movie has a great cast, rising Frank Grillo, and always Good Melissa Leo give this film grit believable without going over the top- good actors can do this no matter what script they're giving, these 2 accomplished that. Forsythe is now pigeon holed so same acted as his last dozen films, Harnett is the headliner with a little bit of criminal sympathy is ok, Slaine is good as Bro n law trapped in criminal family as a Cop, Hublitz of Ozark fame is not very likable bout like her Ozark role same person. This movie has been seen or done a 100 times a 100 different ways but to say this movie is terrible is not true. The journey has its flaws but if u don't fancy yourself as a grade A critic it's very entertaining. I liked it very much and that's all I can ask for in today's Marvel Super Hero world that's contracting our good actors into playing Comic characters to unheard of $$$$ instead of acting in movies with teeth. That's the movie business now Loud unreal CGI wonders peddling to the 13 to 50yr olds, the latter which is still hooked on the Super Hero . This movie is Good not Great but watchable and much enjoyed by me. So give it a chance and leave your morals at the door watch it independently of comparison. Solid 7.

Denzel, Remi, Leto, and best Trailer Award makes this a must watch. Three Oscar winners including my Favorite Actor (Denzel) had me pumped up for a 10* movie and then I pushed play. The acting was great Leto and Denzel for what they were given did an excellent job, and Remi who is great (Oscar for Freddy Mercury) was probably not the right actor though he did a fantastic job the role needed a older gritty worn detective instead of a sharp up and comer. The script was very confusing but if you've seen enough of this genre you could follow along think SeVEn, but not near the writing, but the same level of acting chops just wasted on the script .

The actors did well, but the writer just muddled through a long boring movie that took too long to simmer that never really boiled. Coming during the Covid height I was really pumped for a REAL movie instead of that Garbage that was being put out for the last 2 years and the Trailer did its job winning the Golden Trailer Award. A 7 for the GREAT Actors but not much for the results. Expecting a Homerun but got a ground out to second.

I've seen this movie 100s of times and the Authenticity of the script could be subtitled like other movies some time use Based on True Story. I was younger but my older sister grew up and graduated at this exact time, and I was the annoying little brother. I was not quite the age of the freshman but I remember the hardasses, the jock, the dopers, the hippies, cheerleaders, and the brains from her high school days. She was a cheerleader and dated some of those aholes , but also dated the Cool QB exactly like Pink. Movies to me are the ultimate entertainment and the ones I truly love bring back memories to me that make me say that's EXACTLY HOW it was and this movie does it all. One of the best Coming of Age movies you'll ever see and everyone who grew up in this time from 10-20yrs old Will somewhere in their viewing of this Awesome film, say I remember him or her, because Every small town has all these characters in high school or younger like I was witnessing or hearing the same wild stories depicted in this picture show. I can and will watch this over and over again. I hope y'all will also, it is one of the best. Also one of the best young Cast ever brought together for a movie, as they (actors) were just getting started. The main stars (Wiley and Pink) never did much but the rest of the class are still going steady with Oscars and Emmys galore. " Alright Alright Alright" go watch it.

I grew up loving wrestling for the first I was 8yrs old and wrestler Dr X pulled me in the ring at a TV show in a small town in Mississippi. I was hooked, the Mid-South, Georgia CW, NWA, WWF, I could go on and on. This show brings back so many memories and yet shows a side that us fans never really see. The heart aches, the families drama, the drug abuse, the highs are high, but the lows don't get any lower. Wrestling is scripted, every real wrestling fan knows this but so are movies and tv shows. It a soap opera that has the most athletic stars on tv. It lets people escape for a few hours into a world of violence, drama, comedy, and euphoria exactly what the whole wrestling business is about. It's a HUGE business and this shows how it starts. It's NO different than the NFL (college), MLB (semi Pro), Tennis(tournament circuit) everyone is a pro just on different levels. This series captures the struggles of people trying to live their dreams and does it well. Good series so far, I hope it makes it!

My movie viewing has matured over the years as it should, but still not a fan of subtitles but films like this has changed my mind and rightfully so. The movie is so good that after you watch it twice(which you will if you loved it) you barely have to read them not because of predictably but because it says exactly what you're thinking and its brilliant screenplay and directing. Sometimes reading subtitles and culture of other countries are hard to put altogether, not this time. The film is emotional, funny(dark), endearing, suspenseful, and exactly what movies are supposed to hit on. It's a home run and don't let the low ratings steer you away from this, it almost did me but, once again I overcame my angst and settle in for actually one of the best movies I've ever seen--definitely the Best Foreign movie I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Give that Parasite a hand and A OSCAR well deserved!

This is a Great movie, I'm not either denomination, just enjoyed the suspense, the acting, the history makes me go read about it every time I watch it. Each person or group has its own reasons for participating in these events whether it's vengeance, country, religion, or soul, in the end it's the same "human nature" and the ugliness that engulfs all beings. Money is always the thing that keeps this stuff alive in the end. As far as movies go this was great cinema.
