Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)

Perfect show, perfect ending.

If you give 1 star to this ending, it's only because you're mad you didn't get the "ending" that you wanted.

Bridgerton (2020– )
9/10
If you prefer "accuracy" over "diversity" and "wokeness", this show isn't for you
6 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved it! It's a beautiful romantic historical fiction featuring a lot of scandalous behavior, secrets, lies, and, of course, good old fashioned romance.

Simon (Regé-Jean Page) and Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) have a chemistry that I had yet to see on the big or small screen - one that mirrors real life romances. The dislike on both accounts is obvious, watching it grow to love was beautiful and stunning.

Bridgerton isn't about the accurate retelling of history... it's just a show that has taken freely a specific era of history. Period dramas have often, and rightfully, been criticized for lacking in the diversity of its cast and Bridgerton is evidence that a racially diverse cast can not only work but add to the beauty and appeal of a costume drama. Another important contemporary touch is all of the soft sex scenes, female pleasure focused sex scenes actually. Interwoven with its contemporary sensibilities and sneaky feminism is a comfort with portraying female pleasure that is widely missing from pop culture.

So... if you prefer "accuracy" over "diversity" and "wokeness", this show isn't for you.

Spoiler: I would have give it a 10, but the 6th episode where Daphne assaulted her husband made me really uncomfortable...

Birds of Prey (2020)

This is not a "man hating" movie...
10 March 2020
Is this a good movie? Not really. Is it a bad movie? Not at all. This is not a 10, but certainly nowhere near a 1. Don't get distracted by everyone saying that's it's a bad film. Go form your own opinion! Like someone in these comment said, too bad some reviewers have a political agenda to push on this film accusing it of "man hating". It's a comic book movie based around a female. In comics, most of the villains are men... so, yeah, I don't know what people were expecting, but she has to beat man!

Anyways, personally I think the movie is bizarre, funny and quirky. Just like Harley Quinn. Also, Margot Robbie is perfect for the role.

Room (I) (2015)
10/10
One of the best movie I ever saw.
5 February 2020
Ma ( or Joy) is a woman who was abducted seven years ago who's still held captive in a really small but furnished shed along with her son, Jack, who just turned five. They don't have acces to the outside world but at least the 10x10 box of a living space that they share has a small skylight that allows some semblance of nature to enter. For Ma, this is a prison, but for Jack, who has never known any other environment, the room represents reality in its totality...

One of the best things about "Room" is how such an intimate film manages to raise some big questions. Like... What is real and what is not? What do we really need to live? What defines us as a person?

It reallly not an easy movie to watch, there were moments that were so intense that I barely breathed, but it's so authentic and beautiful and unique and emotional... 10/10 for sure.
