Thanks, George, and your two long time mates for even thinking about taking this on. In reality it's a seriously tough journey that very few people could even enremotely appreciate.

So many aspects stand out, true heiftiendship, endurance, determination and yet the ultimate message that the most important thing in life is how much we make of the events along the way. Midges are a nightmare that need to be experienced to genuinely understand what a horrible effect they can have on your morale.

But a hugely overwhelming part of this film, and for me a very personal thing that I have also endured, is the way that you highlight the incredible beauty of the land that 1we live in.

What a great story, ultimately spoiled by schmaltz... why oh why does American storytelling of true events have to always spin real historical events in this way?

A man that worked so hard to achieve what he did against such odds and undoubted prejudices that still existed in America at that time doesn't deserve to be portrayed as someone who repeatedly pronounced such a level of victimhood.

If the writer's intention was to highlight and reinforce the modern narrative that black men are always confronted by obstacles that other men don't also face, then they do a huge disservice to the real life heroes like Jesse Brown that were fully accepted as brothers in arms by those who stood next to them.

Please, please give it a rest.

This will break your heart from the first scene onwards but stick with it and I promise that it will also: 1. Inspire you 2. Make you look at all sorts of things through another light, and most importantly 3. Leave you as a better person As a single father who has brought up two boys from the ages of seven and two, countless aspects of this film resonated with my own experiences, despite never having been anywhere close to the situation that transpires (except in my most troubled times and imagination). My sons are now twenty and seventeen and have become their own wonderful selves desoite my fumbling efforts along the way, but I truly wish I had seen this at the start of my own journey.

Brilliant writing, direction and most of all career defining performances, in particular from James Norton, but also barely credible from such a young actor as Daniel Lamont, as well as all the supporting cast.

If I could, I would have given this 20+ stars... choose your time to watch it, but never has 'must watch' more applied.

In a way its quite watchable, but ultimately totally ridiculous and full of holes.

There are so many scenes that just don't work and certainly don't ring true with anyone who understands the reality of combat or physical violence.

The only saving graces are that it highlights 1. The trauma that women who suffer domestic abuse go through and 2. The awful psychological confusion that means she doesn't leave him as soon as that starts.

The lead actress playing Lou does a good job with what she has to work with, but is given an impossible task to make it remotely believable.

The rest is essentially wishful thinking on the part of the writers and deluded in the extreme.

Please, if you are ever in a situation where you are living with an abusive partner, seek help and don't con yourself that you can take them on.

And lastly, the vast majority of men would do anything to protect someone in such an awful situation, regardless of their connection to the victim. I know that from experience when I've witnessed it.

Regrettably, only 2 stats for all the above reasons.

A film about people who have zero self awareness and are completely absorbed by their supposed problems that arise from having a great standard of living, but are actually spoilt rotten from cradle tograve (and just to be clear, I'm actually talking about the adults, not their children).

A comedy without any humour, full of characters absorbed by self pity and perhaps the corniest storyline ever produced.

Sadly this ends up being just another crimgefest to add to the long line of Hollywood 'based on a true story' films that completely banana reality in a misguided attempt at giving the audience a fun, yet supposedly authentic experience.

I'd rather get slapped round the face with a dead fish than watch this again!

A couple of funny moments early on, but then it unravelled very quickly.

Creepy premise, incredibly naive writing, but whoever dreamt up the main character has a screw loose ... horribly self absorbed, spoilt brat completely oblivious of what anyone else may be feeling and undeserving of any of the characters around her.

Emotions apparently only mattered if they were hers or when she was ready to recognise anyone else's, yet she should be instantly forgiven for being vile. Even when she apparently 'saw the light', the same attitude applied!

And dressed up as a Christmas movie??

Utterly deluded, though it does a good job at giving some insight on the American view of heroism, totally devoid of stoicism or any self sacrifice for those around them. Just a bucketful of chest thumping nonsense, followed by self pity when it all goes wrong.

Nauseating.

Whether you are a fan of murder mysteries or not, watch this film and have a good night in.

It's full of clever plot lines, twists, loads of very funny moments and fantastic performances. Daniel Craig is very good, all the supporting cast hit the mark, but more than any if them Ana de Armas is absolutely wonderful.

Absolutely terrible, concept acting direction and everything else that makes a film watchable. Utter nonsense. I'm eve struggling to find enough words to meet the 150 characters needed to submit a review!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has to be the worst pile of rubbish that I've ever had the misfortune to watch. Moronic plotline, completely disjointed directing and dreadful acting. Even if it was a deliberate spoof of the genre it would still be awful - seriously, a school kid could do better! Unless you're completely smashed or braindead, avoid this nonsense

Well put together, and with great detail and insight, this series tells a complicated story that many wouldnt understand from mainstream media coverage. But seriously ... this is essentially about a very commercially protected, athletically gifted, piece of sh..iite killing 3 others. (I really dont buy for one minute that they were angels any more than him!) We could ultimately all do without any of these types of people within, and lets be honest here, afflicting decent society with their awful self-fulfilling attitudes. Having said that, its also a serious indictment of the commercial power of US sports, and the pervasive gap between black letter legislative protections in place and the living, breathing realities of a young gay/bisexual man (or other generally non-accepted group within a particuliar environment, which btw can also happen in reverse, opposite situations) while growing up in a perceived hostile world. But thats just my opinion, do watch it and make your own mind up, but really, do try to be honest with yourself as you do so.

What a shame this didnt live up to its potential. Weak dialogue, amateurish direction with walk on cues and a plot by numbers approach. But at least its a straight white man free zone so all the perceived injustices and privileges of the past get addressed in one swoop, and the audience gets a lovely safe space from those nasty misogynists!

So many good things that tried to bring the reality of war to the screen. Sadly its all undermined once again by Gibson's hallmark of turning "based on" into meaning licence to create complete fiction with himself as the hero. Shame on you for never respecting historical events and the brave men that were involved

So disappointed with this, utterly contrived and put together to jump on the bandwagon. I'd hoped to see a UK version of custom build car shows, but its easily the worst in the genre I've seen ... and thats saying something. A car show by numbers that just doesnt work

Plot is a weak rehash of several old Arnie style 80s movies, but with even more terrible acting, dialogue and directing. Whoever decided that Gina Carano needed an action movie vehicle and produced this should never be allowed near the industry again! Seems like someone desperately trying to produce a female lead action film, but badly misfiring and backfiring at the same time

Some good end products, but whereas they claim to resurrect old junkers, in reality they buy in the cast majority of parts and just fit and paint them! Jumping on the bandwagon, avoid!

Dont waste your time, just more soft power nonsense ... does kung fu and Bruce Lee no service, just avoid it

Rawlings being his obnoxious self, supported by the usual super camp lackeys ... It does have occasional useful business tips, but is mainly just a vehicle for product placement, making RR easy money and cross publicising his various ventures
