Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Mediocre
Like the rest of the DCU movies, it just felt kinda meh to watch. It was essentially a gender flipped version of Deadpool 2. (which I actually enjoyed watching, unlike this.) A crazy comic book character who just got out of a tragically ended relationship has to save a kid? Yeah. I recommend not putting this on unless it's playing in the background.
Child's Play (2019)
Possibly the worst remake I've ever seen
Just another case of production companies trying to make money of of nostalgia. Don't watch this unless you want to bore yourself to death with the same stereotypes we've seen a million times over the past twenty years. Absolute snooze fest for people who liked the original.
Possibly in Michigan (1983)
Disturbing in a good way
The film starts with a woman in a shopping mall, being followed by a man wearing a bizarre clown(?) mask. The woman meets with her friend at a perfume desk, and they begin a weird, run-together, monotone conversation, the voice dub seemingly very different from what they are actually saying. The masked man is staring at them in the background. The rest of the film shows flashes of the straight haired woman dancing in an unusual way with the masked man and buildings collapsing, along with pictures and videos of the woman slowly fading into strange statues and figures. Mind you, the whole time you can hear a woman singing in the background. The man who was following the woman ends up being shot and killed by the woman's friend from the perfume desk. They eat the man's body, both of the women naked, drinking wine, and dispose of the remaining bones in a garbage bag. They watch the bag being taken by the garbage truck.
I enjoyed the film, and I'm happy to say that I have already shown it to my mom, and she loves it.
American Horror Story: Charles (Manson) in Charge (2017)
Best episode of the season, but not best episode ever...
**SPOILER ALERT** So, this episode, in my opinion, was the only episode that TRULY felt like AHS. I thought it was a nice touch to have Evan Peters play Charles Manson and other cult leaders, as Kai sees himself as basically God, parallel to Charles and others. Though, the episode, "Valerie Solanas Died For Your Sins: Scumbag", I was a little confused why they cast Evan Peters as Andy Warhol. This whole season just felt a little disjointed and sloppy to me.
