A fundamental document
19 January 2006
This is a very intelligent approach to Mexican Revolution. Maybe this movie was affected by censorship, but not for the time. You can see all the corruption and the abuses of the military authority .Also you can enjoy the performances of great actors like Adela Sequeyro, Alfredo del Diestro and Luis G. Barreiro, all of them unfairly forgotten. El Prisionero Trece was restored by UNAM, and belongs to a very primitive period Mexican cinema. In fact, you can perceive some sounds flaws and, sometimes, the dialogs are very obvious. Additionally, the plot is predictable. But this precious document will thrill you and make you understand that human vulgarity is always present, not only during war.
