Leave Horror Alone - David Gordon Green!
6 October 2023
I think we were all fooled by Halloween 2018 and thought David Gordon Green was going to be somewhat of a saviour for horror... we were wrong. Instead of making these below average horror sequels/requels, whatever they're called these days, go make a sequel to Pineapple Express!!

This movie was so boring for 3/4 of it and then the other 1/4 of it was just disappointing. Cheap jump scares were below average. And the atmosphere and tension that made the original so amazing was nowhere to be seen!

Saw X and The Nun II are also in cinemas at the moment, go and see them instead because at least they're somewhat enjoyable!

Is this a good Saw movie?
28 September 2023
The real question here is... is this a good Saw movie?

I might have to go watch it again but I don't really want to, which is a bad sign. Did I like the movie on my first viewing? Not really but that could be to do with I was not expecting the first half to be like that, you'll understand when you see it.

I got extremely bored. The 'Saw' parts were really 'SAWy' which means gore and blood splatter and crazy inventions that killed people, but other than that the movie was very boring and maybe I'll enjoy it more a second time because I know what I'm going to sit through, idk only time will tell.

All in all it's not a horrible movie and not a bad saw movie just a really, really unnecessary one.

1570 IMAX a must!
26 July 2023
I have now seen this movie twice, once in regular cinema and once in 1570 IMAX. Even though it was an outstanding movie in regular cinema, I highly encourage you to see it in 1570 IMAX. It wasn't just a completely different experience, it was eye opening how films can be shot and watched.

The obvious is that Cillian Murphy will take home the Oscar for best Actor in a leading role because wow he just destroyed every single scene!

I can't tell you who was the best support cast member because there were so many that deserve recognition from Downey Jnr to Gary Oldman as President Truman.

After watching the movie the first time I researched more and more about these events and it actually made the second viewing more enjoyable! I recommend watching it first without researching anything and then diving deep into the story and watching it again!

Not... Not bad
24 April 2023
Honestly had absolutely 0 expectations going into this movie and that probably saved me from rating it lower. It wasn't actually awful which it had all the makings to be.

Crowe was good in the lead and the supporting cast held their own too! It wasn't over the top stupid whether you believe in that type of thing or not.

There were also some pretty good scares with not a bad story! As far as exorcist movies go and the crap that is thrown at us constantly this will probably fall through the cracks over bigger titles but it's better than them!

I'm not a big fan of these types of movies but I got my moneys worth!

It's what you pay for
24 April 2023
Whatever it tells you you'll get... it gives you! The gore is next level, the scares are there and it's definitely an Evil Dead movie!

I'm a huge fan of the originals and the TV show and I actually like the reboot/sequel/requel whatever that one was but honestly I think this one might take 2nd spot on my favourite of them!

It's scary and it's actually unpredictable (not like 99.9% of horror movies these days) It didn't rely on jump scares, it was creepy and tense the whole movie, that being said there are plenty of jump scares to get you going!

It was fun to watch the mayhem of an Evil Dead movie in a new setting!

Scream VI (2023)

The best since the OG
8 March 2023
Easily the best scream movie since the original. In every way (but one - explained soon) it's better than all the sequels. The opening scene is brilliant and the way they did it was scary and intense. The kills were brutal but felt realistic and that these things could actually happen.

The things I loved most about this movie was the intensity and how scary it actually was. I love horror movies and I love scream more than anything but the sequels lacked intensity and being scary. This one up the intensity to 100, the chase scenes were perfect and could be the best of the series, except maybe for Gale in Scream 2.

There's one thing that makes this better than all the sequels and that's the fear you had of not knowing who might die at any point in the movie. In all the other screams you kinda know who will die and who will survive, No one felt safe in this one. Even though it was the longest out of the series, it did not feel like that and honestly could have gone for longer!!

The worst thing about the movie is the last 20 minutes. It might be the worst last 20 minutes of any scream movie (close to the hospital ending of scream 4) but that's just my opinion and I will go watch it another 10 times in cinemas.

Just another horror movie
16 January 2023
Don't go into this movie thinking you'll see something you have never seen before or thinking you're about to watch a horror classic because you're just not.

Is the movie bad? No, not at all. It is actually pretty good, funny in parts and quite creepy in other parts. If you want some mindless fun for an hour and 30 minutes and have seen every other horror movie then you can watch this one and be distracted for the runtime.

Just one thing, it may have the most annoying kid in cinema since the boy from Babadook. See it for yourself and you will know what I mean. That being said, not a horrible movie but not a great one either!

Abomination to film
16 January 2023
This movie is awful. The first one is awful and this one even more awful. Went to see this movie because apparently it's a technical achievement that has never been done before... well I've seen marvel movies that have done the same sort of stuff but even better.

The visuals were cool sure but the movie was so boring it's insane. It was a rinse and repeat type of movie for 3 hours. One character does something stupid and gets in trouble and another character saves them and then they get yelled at and say they would never do it again and then they do it again...

At least I know that there are 17 more of these coming out and they can't be as bad as this one... can they?

Terrifier 2 (2022)

Better than 99% of crap out there
28 October 2022
We will look back at this movie and also the original terrifier in years to come and call these movies classics! Yes they are full of blood and gore but if you don't like that there's still lots to love as a horror fan, it's creepy and tense.

Art the clown is a modern horror icon and he will be up there with the greats including Freddy, Jason, Leatherface and Ghostface. He is creepy, loveable for a bad guy and like all the others someone you would not want to see in real life! Every time I see a ghost face costume it freaks me out but I'm telling you if I saw someone dressed as Art the clown I would S*** my pants.

Smile (V) (2022)

Better than 99% of crap these days
14 October 2022
I did say it's the best horror movie in a long time but that's nothing really to be proud of. I watched this movie the day after seeing Halloween Ends so maybe that's why I liked it so much because Halloween Ends was so bad that it nearly made me cry!

Anyway, Smile was pleasant surprise to me because I really enjoyed it and I haven't been that scared in a cinema since the conjuring. I'm usually pretty good at predicting the scares but some scares here came at a delightful surprise!

I really liked this movie but just like 99.9% of horror movies they just don't know what to do when it gets to the final 15-20mins. They did such a great job leading up to the ending... that being said I did enjoy the last 30 seconds of the film!!

Halloween Ends... thank god.
13 October 2022
If you are a Halloween fan you'll hate this more than anything you've ever seen! There's 13 Halloween movies now... this is my 14th favourite, that's saying something because Rob Zombies 'movies' I can't even sit through anymore. I'll probably go and see Halloween ends again just to see if this is how I really feel.

Yes, it's a little bit different from other Halloween movies but nothing we haven't seen done before in horror movies, I'll go into more detail in my spoiler review.

But all of this is just my opinion and we all have different ones so does this review really matter? Probably not.

Wow. Just wow.
18 February 2022
Even worse than The Next Generation. It's about on par with Halloween II (the Rob Zombie version). Just an awful movie. I went into this movie with below 0 expectations but still that was too high! Wasn't even fun to watch. My favourite type of movies are bad horror movies like wrong turn and grave encounters but this movie tried wayyyyy too hard and just got it all wrong.

In my own opinion that is.
