Clarkson's Farm (2021)
Enjoyed every minute of it!
A very interesting insight into farming with Jeremys comedy aspect thrown in for good measure, I enjoyed every minute of it and hope they do another season... it was epic.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Nothing like the others... horror? I think not.
Shocking movie in the sense that's it's shockingly awful, where was the horror? 3 stars simply for the actors effort.
I wouldn't call this a horror either it's more a crime thriller with a hint of cheese.
The Great Escapists (2021)
What is it?
I'm not sure what to say about this but I'll try...
Firstly it's like some strange cross between Mythbusters/Brainiac but missing the intricate build details (here's an idea and here's one I made earlier) type deal, yet they've tried to dramatize it with some cheesy story telling... it's not made for kids because some language isn't appropriate and gin drinking? also it's not educational enough to be a kids show.
Who is this aimed for exactly, young adults maybe? I know my 14 year old didn't enjoy it... and it's too immature for adults too.
Not my cup of tea personally BUT it is nice to see them working together and it is different though different doesn't mean good, I'm sure with a few tweaks it could be a really fun show for every one.
Skip the cheesy story telling and show actual build details and they could be on to something good.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Perfectly Boring
While I understand this is a completely different story than the first Hill House, this latest series didn't meet the standards met by the first at all which was a real shame, the acting was predictable and so was the story.
The story itself was interesting to begin with but had me lost in places (maybe I should watch it again) but it was also slow and dull.
The actors were decent enough as with the last Hill House but feel like their roles given let them down.
Was it creepy? not at all, coming from the first Hill House it's more of a dark romance which is exactly how it's described by many but it's true.
When the first Hill House set the bar so high this had to be better than the first and follow a similar set of values that brought in it's audience the first time but it doesn't, a risky move to be honest and I'm not sure it's going to pay off.
IF... they release a 3rd season they'd better bring back the scares or I have a feeling it'll be axed by Netflix.
I'm also not sure on all these 10/10 reviews... I mean, did these people *cough* (bots) even watch the first series? how this can rank so highly after that is beyond me.
In a nutshell the story is ok at best, easy to loose what's going on and pretty boring, the scares if you can call them that are nothing close to the first and that lets the whole thing down massively.
Altered Carbon (2018)
Watered down version...
Nothing like the first season which was actually worth it's 8+ , almost as if it has been watered down, it has no grit about it anymore. Anthony Mackie? I mean he's not doing the role any justice either re sleeve or not, Joel played Kovacs so well in the first season that it almost feels like they took a step back putting Anthony Mackie in the driving seat, no offence to him he's great in other roles but not this one sorry.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
If vaping someone's breath is scary to you then...
I don't know what to say other than " what a shambles this movie was" ,no real plot, it wasn't scary at all with the exception of 1 scene maybe when he wakes up in bed with... but other than that, it's a movie about some baddies vaping on people's breath to stay young LOL, it shares nothing with the original movie at all.
How this scored anything beyond a 4 is crazy...
I guess people enjoy watching crap these days
Skin (2018)
I thought it was a great watch.
I thought it was a great film to watch considering it's based on true events, I don't know why people would say it's "cringe" far from it.
Great acting and actors too.
