Lake Nowhere (2014)
Done to perfection!
Never mind those who say Grindhouse, not to put these guys down, got all the titles, love them, but they got nothing on this, had me fooled and I´m a Slasher Gorewhore mega fan, thought it was actuallly from early 70´ties lost VHS material and all! Everyone on the production deserves high praise and a price!
Get your hands on it any how necessary!
211 (2018)
Nicolas Cage.... "211"
Well, headline says most, is my opinion!
One thing is that the movie, as such, is, by any standard, absolutely NOT worth watching!
ACCHHHHGGH, why me?
2 scenarioes; 1 - I´m idiotically stupid or 2 - very unlucky in the choosing of movies!
Well a 3rd; there are a ridiculous wast amount - present time - really bad productions!
Silver lining; WHEN, not IF, WHEN you actually hit them golden ones it is like a rainbow exploding just behind your eyes!
BLAH, watch it if you most!
But; really; Do not!
Knock Knock (2015)
UHHHHMMMM! Low rating if adding!
I do not know why people hate this title??? I did get CONFUSSED! Innocent? Set up by a very disturbed couple of young women! Most likely, what I got from the film... so far... A squeal is almost here, HeH! I would not bank on any answeres as to what or why or "WHAT????????" Do not think the pictures and what you see is what you think! Great actors/actresses, great story, well written and executed, still-leben but hard to the thrilling core, if you give yourself a chance to catch on, to the very little that makes sense! No not in neg but in pos! Admit; it takes a bit more than watching "Friends"! If you just bare with it you will mostly see, that this a new generation, made by ol´schoolers, directed by Eli Roth. and come-back from tedious not-worth- watching since "Pan's Labyrinth" two Guillermo Amoedo and Nicolás López!!! Hey, who´s to say, give it a chance, might surprice you in a good way!
- All to his/her own!
The Titan (2018)
WAUW! Loads o fancy words, them!
This site is brillant, BUT lacking one feature; the minus-mile-points!
So had to go with 1 star, mind you that is for ME for actually pressing the button PLAY....
"The Titan".... Ohhh dear....?!
38 min. in something happens that does not have anything to do with anything actually happening...!?
Watched more than average, more than fair share of movies, tv and series, well and so on, ye o´ll box and Bob´s ya uncle and so forth!
Mostly positive, 95% positive I´d say, BUT this one; utter crap!
The only 'spoiler' is that; I - after 10 min. - sarted to talk to myself, thinking in storm-mode, looking out the window, and for no reason at ALL prancing about my small appartment in confusion as "Should I stay, or should I go???" (Pun intended!) This movie is amongst the wast few of plenty; UTTER CRAP NOT WORTH A PEEK!
Enjoy folks! SORRY to spoil the time you gonna spoil by presseng PLAY - on this movie!
Not to soon, so Imma laugh at meself for being a man that could set fire to a bucket of water!
Ginger Snaps (2000)
the best werewolf ever!
GINGER SNAPS
"Ginger Snaps" the first movie of this so far - trilogy is a breath of real fresh air. Even as a fan I have to admit that the 'werewolf' genre never had all that much to offer. There has only been a few fairly good ones and even fewer ones to go down in history as memorable. All that drew my attention to this flick was the DK cover and I only bought it 'cause it was a bargain. The best 10$ I spent in like years. The movie to me - totally lacks flaws, it all just seems to come together perfectly. If you listen to the commentary track you will learn that the author of the story ( a woman - that in itself mostly goes
) loathes the horror genre all in all, never saw more then 10 minutes of any horror movie. Yet she came up with the best written werewolf-script in ages. The movie in itself is really good, a bit modest but that just underlines the purity of it's goal; to tell a good story. And isn't that what movies are all about! Must say, the plot is somewhat surprising, a teen-age movie flick turned bad, meaning that it actually has a storyline above superficial slash and kill. As usual I do not reveal too much, Landis in '81 did the the all-timer but this certainly shares the throne king and queen you might say. And if nothing else, this definitely is an appetizer for the its successor.
GINGER SNAPS UNLEASHED
THE ULTIMATE WEREWOLF-MOVIE! ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY GROUNDBREAKING! EMILY PERKINS FOR PRESIDENT! This movie pays no mind to the (unwritten) rules of the genre, what so ever. To me they proved themselves better already by simply killing off the 'hottie' sister in the first one! Hopefully they did so to make room for outstanding actress Emily Perkins ( the sister Brigitte, who survives the evil spell that was passed on to her by Ginger; Hottie Model Katharine Isabelle and who's now trying to fight off the metamorphosis with the herbs ). Emily's appearances in both movies is rather disturbing. Her bodyweight is scary her bodyweight adds to her performance. She deserves recognition, an Oscar at least, she is the best actress I've seen in many years. Maybe because she doesn't remind me of anyone, but certainly because she is so good that I'm short of words big enough to praise her performance. And that was just to begin with! Then they pay the ultimate tribute to Patricia/Patty McCormack's incredible performance in the all time best thriller/suspense movie "The Bad Seed" from 1956. They do so by introducing Tatiana Maslany ( called Ghost ) who fascinates to such a degree that it is again - hard to figure out why this movie didn't go straight to the top. Talk about perfection. If she can do this she is bound to fail
Sucks to peak that early, doesn't it. Or did she peak? In the extra's you can watch the scenes with "Ghost" that were cut out, which to me proves that this is something rare; an intelligent and very carefully thought through production. To top it off they actually so I imagine, referring to the successor 'stumbled' on to an ending so cool and surprising that it can actually compare itself to "Sleepaway Camp" ( Talking about the first one
just in case you don't know it, it's the best camp/slasher trilogy ever made!)
GINGER SNAPS BACKS THE BEGINNING
Well, run of the mill. Not at all living up to
anything! Personally; I'm waiting for the follow-up to "Unleashed"!
Not that it's a bad movie! Just it's a crowd-pleaser. Smells a bit like rip-off ( know what movie I'm thinking off, just can't remember the name, even have the trailer
somewhere! ) and it ABSOLUTELY ruins the trilogy. But like so many times before I just write it off like it doesn't belong, and so should you! Sorry.
Serenity (2005)
Worth the wait!
This is the follow up movie to the first season TV sci-fi series "Firefly". The series are way heavy on drama and western, and they tend to get a bit slow, lacking action. Though I have come to like "Firefly" I feel that I must add that it just barely crosses the line between drama and sci-fi. It does have great potential to become a whole new really solid and kewl sci-fi show. What season one lacks sci-fi and action wise "Serenity" certainly makes up for. "Serenity" has to be one of the best sci-fi movies of the year. The critics loved it but the audience stayed away
and once again that proves just what poor taste I have. Personally I don't like most of Joss Whedon's other work; loathe "Angel" and hate "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". The sickening tendency to try and please the mainstream, like with the two above mentioned shows, shines through in "Firefly" and has not successfully been overcome in "Serenity". Not that it has ruined the movie, but the outcome does have a bit of HALLMARK-stench attached to it! What it needs is edge! A bit more blood, gore and meanness. In my opinion they have created the scariest' mutant psychopaths in space ever REAVERS!!! Unfortunately they provide us with way too many answers about them, and not nearly enough screen time, not in "Firefly" nor "Serenity". REAVERS are my BORGS. Don't care much for "Star Trek" find it a bit monotonous, but the episodes with the BORGS in them I almost love. "Serenity" is visually fantastic, the scenery and CGI is tops, it has the cast from "Firefly" which is an absolute plus, they do it better than well. Word is that; this is it! No more
if that's true; you stupid ...! We sat through an entire season and actually learned to appreciate it, hoping for you to get it together and make something of it. A bit of a slow start, admitted, but if you aim to break new grounds stick with your promises. Give us the next season, make it follow the path of "Serenity" you at least owe us that much Mr. Whedon. Or are you that much of a wimp? It's not a box office hit so you give up? Never mind the budget, some of the best movies are made for nickels and dimes, it's the stories that count and you, Mr. Whedon, 's got a really kewl story! The first season and "Serenity" can not stand alone. If "Serenity" and "Firefly" is not pursued then it has all just been for nothing, a waste of time and unfinished work. Earn your credit! - Please!!!
Ghost in the Machine (1993)
Well, I still like it!
To tell the truth, this movie isn't all that good. It doesn't cross the line of being so bad that it's funny, it's too good-clean-family-fun for that. BUT! If you like SFX like the ones in "TRON" (I'm not comparing it to "TRON" at all, it doesn't even come anywhere close!) then you might wanna see this one as well. The movie is funny in the way that half of the scenes supposed to be scary or kewl doesn't pull through but then the other half works fine. It's like they never really finished the whole movie properly. One supposed-to-be-scary scene that totally fails is when the kid almost gets caught under the automatic swimming pool cover
Really! Not believing it, it's rather poorly made and what are those tentacles (or wires I suppose?) he's pulling on? Allso you have to sit through the moralizing statement that hackers should think twice before committing crime
! Ohh, go suck a bug! The catchphrase of the movie also happens to be the plot "There is no way anyone can kill somebody with a computer!" My reason for watching this is the early days of computers, cyberspace and Virtual Reallity plot and the SFX's. Furthermore the director Rachel Talalay has done pretty kewl stuff like "Nightmare on Elm Street" but her best work so far; "Tank Girl" 1994 is one of my favorites so I had to see this one as well! So if you're in the mood for some light movie watching this is what I recommend! NJOY!
