Baghead (2023)
Not Bad
I have mixed feelings about this movie. The story is good but not very well executed. The scares are not many but are shot well. The atmosphere is nice and most of the movie is shot inside the big house which was needed per the story. The backstory of the witch is not very well explained so this leaves many doubts uncleared. I think the lead actress is new so kinda rough around the edges when it comes to acting. The father acted well followed by the baghead witch. The ending tries hard to be twisty but would leave many confused and unimpressed. I feel the movie can be a 1 time watch for horror movie fans who are looking for a decent horror flick without compromising on quality.
Billions (2016)
One in a Billion Series
Since the very 1st episode back in 2016, this fantastic series had me hooked, until the final episode which streamed recently. The acting is fantastic - Axe, Chuck, Prince, Wendy, Mike all the actors played their parts brilliantly. The storyline can get a bit over the top sometimes, but is faithful to its overall premise of Money, greed, power and keeps you hooked throughout with its gripping storyline, twists and turns. The dialogues in this series are very impactful and coupled with a great background score, can really touch your heart. The finale was just perfect and a fitting sendoff to a truly brilliant series. I hope they bring Billions back in some capacity in future, because we can never get enough of Bobby Axelrod.
The Batman vs. Dracula (2005)
Excellent Movie
I am a huge DC fan, much more of their animated movie offerings. And although their recent movies have been big letdowns, the older Batman and Superman animated movies still hold dear to my heart. I had seen Batman Vs Dracula when it released back in the day and remember enjoying it a lot. Fast forward to 2023, re-watched it again recently with friends(all in our late 30s) and thoroughly enjoyed it yet again. The story is riveting and keeps you hooked throughout with its suspenseful music and horror theme. It definitely feels like Batman has finally met his match in Dracula. Joker and Penguin have side roles but add to the necessary fun elements when required. The animation is spot on and is on par to todays quality. Highly recommended.
Malignant (2021)
Different and Interesting.
Different horror/mystery story, the unravel at the end was not expected. Acting overall is very good, especially Gabriel :). The movie keeps you invested till the end. James Wan seemed to have lost his touch with his previous movies (especially the dismal Conjuring 3), but its definately come back with Malignant. A solid horror movie to watch atleast once.
The Batman (2022)
Boring
I think they are trying to take Batman character backwards with this movie. He is overly sensitive to everything, will cry in every scene if he could and also his action scenes felt a bit underwhelming (if you compare this to the Dark Knight movies). Story seemed stretched and has few good moments but overall very boring for a Batman fan who wanted a lot more.
Undertaker: The Last Ride (2020)
PHENOMenal Documentary
A Brilliant Documentary for one of the true icons of Sports Entertainment. It shows the real man behind The Undertaker - A simple down to earth human being, a caring Husband/Father, a mentor to his colleagues, a person who loves his work so dearly that he almost gives his life for it. I watched all 5 episodes atleast 3 times and everytime I see it, I just couldn't control my tears. Definitely watch it if you are a true Undertaker fan.
Super 30 (2019)
Good Acting, boring movie
Typical bollywood over exaggerated movie. Lead and supporting actors plus songs are good. However story seems too superficial for a simple IIT professor and his 30 students. Even the length of the movie seems too dragged and can easily be cut by 45mins. Also whats with the fake 10/10 reviews, IMDB are you fact checking the sources even?
The Death of Superman (2018)
Best DC Animated movie involving Doomsday
Doomsday is my fav supervillian in all of DC/Marvel universe, and when you have him fighting the entire Justice League in one movie, expectations are high. This film delivers it in a very satisfying way. They didnt hold Doomsday back and he rages to give a handsome beating to all main and secondary characters. The final fight between him and Superman is goosebump worthy and makes a lasting impact. This is definately a must own DVD collection for ardent Superman/Doomsday fans.
Justice League vs. the Fatal Five (2019)
Good Movie
DC definitely knows how to make good animated movies, and this one was no exception. Only problem is the story, it makes no sense and the lead Green lantern girl seems forced into the script.
Creed II (2018)
What,,,Really?
Having been a big Rocky fan like many others, I had high hopes for this movie, because Rocky IV was my favorite especially Ivan Drago and the entire song list being the best of the entire lot. But this movie disappointed me on many levels - The acting was lackluster, soundtrack was meh and it just didnt have the punch which Rocky IV delivered upon. Im also terribly surprised with the high ratings its got here on IMDB, makes me wonder whats going on. I would say if you haven't seen the movie yet, dont bother its just not worth it.
Contratiempo (2016)
Brilliant and Flawless
This movie blew me away. This maybe the best suspense movie I have ever seen. The actors, the screenplay, the twists/turns and the climax - Just wow. Without sounding too fake, I would suggest you to simple go ahead and watch this movie, you will love it.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Watch it for Thanos!
I dont know whether we have kids here or the PR agencies who have given this movie a 10/10, but this movie is certainly not a perfect 10, actually far from it. I dont want to complain about the plot, but right from the beginning the movie seems all over the place. We understand Thanos is after the infinity stones but the screenplay fails to deliver this story in a 'Marvel' way we are accustomed to enjoy. I really enjoyed Josh Brolin as the mighty 'Thanos" - He is just perfect in this role and delivers a stellar performance. If you are an Avengers fan, definately see this movie but dont expect a grand finale, because this is definately not.
Batman Ninja (2018)
Dont waste your time with this nonsense
Being a true Batman/DC Universe fan I have seen it all, but this animation (or whatever they wanted to show in this) was just not right. The plot is extremely boring and frankly how this story even got approved is beyond my understanding. A few fight scenes are well done but overall a complete disappointment. Please stick with the old animation formula guys, we dont want to butcher a great franchise and memories of both young and old associated with Batman.
