Prens (2023)
Turkish Black Adder
I don't know if it was ever an inspiration, but this series reminds me the first season of Black Adder by Sir Rowan Atkinson.
Main character is a non-binary quirky Prince, with a touch of stereotypical Turkish gay man attitude, sometimes to the point of exaggeration. Prince is not the typical "good" person, but a very self-centered and ignorant just like S1 Black Adder.
Plot is not very original or unexpected, yet focusing on character development and fun aspect shines the series to magnificent success.
Originality comes from that attitude of Prince and story is just a background around him.
There are times that scenes getting a bit boring and stretching the gimmick way too much, but it still can be considered a fast-paced series comparing to overall Turkish series we have.
Definitely a fresh breath of air, not focusing on vulgar language to make it seem fun like many others and thankfully something that is not focusing on Turkey or Turkish people related theme, but definitely made for Turkish-speaking people to enjoy with relative material.
Absolutely recommend and hoping to see more of it.
Rammstein: Deutschland (2019)
One of the best
Apart from the musical quality, as visual aspects this is one of the best music videos I've ever seen.
Going through all of those dark times of Germania with no censorship concerns, acting quality of musicians, acting of Ruby Commey, art style, messages within...
Everythings in an order despite jumping through all those timelines and eventually intercepting together, of course intentionally.
In many western countries, this could be quite a PR disaster for any other band. But Rammstein take their absurd but strong storytelling aspects into the music video and with help of countless other people they created this piece of art.
