Definitely an improvement over the Theatrical cut
15 November 2022
Upon it's release, the Two Towers, while not at all poorly received by the audience, was deemed by few to be slightly inferior to the original film. Major criticisms were aimed at the films slower pace and being less faithful to the source material. However, this extended edition should serve as an amazing treat for audiences. There is more humor in this installment, and it even adds a lot more character development for some characters. It even gives characters like Faramir and Eowyn more layers. The pacing is also much more satisfying and the story flows much better. Gollum is also made an even more entertaining creature, which he already was pretty interesting. Definitely worth going back to watch this movie for seeing these incredible changes.

Makes it slightly better than the Theatrical Cut.
15 November 2022
The extended edition might be longer for some, but has a lot more to offer audiences and even makes the movie more faithful to the source material. It fixes more confusing plot points and also helps the audience better understand the sequels. It does strengthen the relationship between Aragorn and Boromir, and even adds more context to Bilbo's character. Samwise is also made a more interesting character. There are a few plot hole from the theatrical cut that are left unresolved, which may bother some people. But overall the extended edition should serve as a treat to many audiences and fans alike.

Pretty good despite a slight change in tone

Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw the Battle of the Five Armies I was bit underwhelmed. It was initially my least favorite in the trilogy. Going to watch this I was expecting to be more disappointed. And yes while it is still not a masterpiece, what I got was something more enjoyable. This version has 2 of my favorite deleted scenes for the trilogy: Bilbo and Bofur's conversation and Thorin's funeral. The characters get a little bit more depth, even if it's not a lot. We get to Bombur talk for the first time and we see a lot more action sequences. Plus the additional material doesn't focus too heavily on subplots. This version made me enjoy this movie better than An Unexpected Journey.

A much stronger version
12 November 2022
This particular extended edition was definitely enough to add more interesting material to the movie. It also added a few more scenes that were present in novel, like the dwarves meeting Beorn and Bombur falling asleep in Mirkwood. The Mirkwood scenes were especially interesting and added more to the gloomy atmosphere of the place. But also much like the first one, I felt like it could've added a bit more to the action sequences. The dwarves are a bit more interesting in this version though they still fall short of the leader, Thorin himself. It would've also been great to see some more material with Smaug.

Good Overall
12 November 2022
The extended edition scenes were for the most part great. But also the extended edition did have some of my least favorite scenes. (Ex. Skimmy dipping dwarves, the Great Goblin singing). I did like the extra Rivendell sequences though. Overall it was more enjoyable, but I would added a bit more to the action too. The movie is probably the most overrated of the series.(though like the other 2 Hobbit movies it is saved by its charm.) Doesn't add a whole lot of character depth to much of the dwarves and they still remain 2 dimensional at most, with the exception of the 3 dimensional Thorin Oakenshield.

Most overlooked of the trilogy
5 August 2022
This movie was pretty amazing and really left a great impact on me. Fantastic visuals and great performances. Never understood why people liked the others a lot more. This one was just as good.

Bro what a twist!
17 May 2022
This episode opened up feeling like an average episode, but quickly transitioned into something more special. Overall, satisfying; but that ending twist makes me wonder about what's coming next.

Exceeded the best of my expectations
1 January 2022
I went into this one expecting the worst, but came out of it being blown away. It brought so much nostalgia to me. Really good chemistry between a lot of the characters, and it also learned from the mistakes of past films (Spider-Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man 2) making each villain interesting in their own way. Really did something that no other superhero movie has done.

Better than Homecoming
1 January 2022
This movie had a lot of issues, but I'm the end I ended up liking it better than Homecoming, because it had a better love interest and it also raised the stakes higher. Also that climax was unforgettable, especially that credits scene. Gave me hope for the future of this series.

Pretty good movie overall.
1 January 2022
This was a fresh return to Spider-Man for me. Really good villain, and great connection to the MCU. The only thing that undermined it all was that love interest, as well as the underwhelming climax. But still I had a lot of fun with this movie.

Possibly the best threequel ever made
9 December 2021
As awesome as Fellowship and Two Towers were, people were a little cautious in entering this third and final installment of the trilogy. When they did, they got a movie that served not only as a satisfying conclusion to a beloved story, but a film that surpassed both the first and second films of the series. A perfect balance between story and action, and all the characters' storylines are completed with care. The emotional power is heightened and the film is so well made that even the most major mistakes feel ignorable. An interesting choice to sweep all 11 of its nominated Oscars, tying it for the most awarded film with Ben-Hur (1959) and Titanic (1997). The ending does drag a little, but it is highly rewarding where much of the emotional power delivers at its strongest.

A solid sequel that outdoes the original!
9 December 2021
Following the masterpiece, Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers takes the story up a notch by introducing us to interesting new characters and even raises the stakes for the ones we're more familiar with. Sure, it is a bit slower moving than Fellowship, but it's more focused on its narrative. Also, the performances are spectacular, especially coming from motion capture actor Andy Serkis, who truly serves as a scene stealer. Additionally, the Battle of Helm's Deep is debatably the best battle of the trilogy and really makes up for a few pacing issues. (as does the Special Extended Edition)

A perfect start and great masterpiece
9 December 2021
This is a fantastic way to start the trilogy out and a faithful adaptation. It can be a little repetitive and questionable in originality, but definitely a masterpiece like the other 2 films. Really nice job at world building.

Definitely diving into better territory
4 October 2021
Last season felt a little uneven and too political, (not necessarily bad though) but the writers seemed to have gotten the message this time around. I can tell that this season is aiming to make a number of improvements.
