Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this movie. I had just watched it for the first time during my current film class, and to be honest, going in to it, I wasn't that excited about it. I had heard from all my film junkie friends that this movie was excellent but I have high standards for movies, so I wasn't that pumped "going in".

And sure enough...I stand here today eating my words. As the movie starts, you don't know where you are and you never quite get you're bearings before you are thrown into a world of crime, mistrust, and deception. The movie has it all; comedy, trust, betrayal, action and the single BEST twist to any movie...EVER!

And trust me, if you don't understand it the first time, thats OK. If you DO understand it from the first viewing...YOU HAVE NO IDEA! It's really worth it to see this movie more than once a) Because you need to get another grip on the story (like i had to) and b) To see the thousands of little details that you missed the first time that would make sense the second time around.

If you haven't seen this move, you should go to your nearest movie rental place and rent this masterpiece TONIGHT. You won't regret it.

A fair warning to all the movie fans out there, this movie was absolutely HORENDOUS! I wanted my two hours back! I had seen some of Monique's stand up before and I thought to myself "Hey...she was sort of funny before, and I've got some time to kill...why not?" Long story short...BIG MISTAKE! The plot was awful, the characters were not funny, and lets just say I've seen better acting watching old tapes of my elementary school plays. Now, on the slight upside, there were some funny parts, but for the other 99% of the movie, I was deciding weather to cry for Monique for making this movie or for me because I could have taken my 10 dollars and done something much more entertaining. A word to the wise...under any circumstances ...do NOT see this movie!....beware of Phat Girlz!

A Perfect 10! A very underrated Miyazaki classic that never gets the recognition that it deserves.

It's a wonderful story about a little girl named Sheeta who is found mysteriously floating down from the sky, her new found friend Pazu, an ambitious worker looking for adventure. Through the journey, they encounter the crooked government, good hearted pirates...and oh yeah...a floating mystical world in the sky! There's not much more to say; the animation is beautiful for the time, and the story is absolutely amazing.

However, contrary to its appearance, the film truly appeals to both adults as well as children. I strongly recommend this film to anyone aging from 6 to 100. It will warm your heart and make you want to rewind to the beginning and watch it all over again. Long live Miyazaki!
