The Resident: Ask Your Doctor (2021)
Medical Accuracy
Would it be so difficult to show medically accurate things on a medical show? I recognize it might go over most heads, but there ARE like, millions of people in the medical field who spot the obvious BS. And while most people won't nice, if you're going to show an image on the screen of a heart with "critical aortic stenosis", why not show an image of actually that, instead of a completely normal study? It's bad enough we have to watch surgeons perform imaging studies, because god forbid you have a character that's a Sonographer or something. If you need a consultant for anything echo, I'll be glad to do it.
Outlander: Do No Harm (2018)
It's Becoming Unbearable
Now, I have always loved this show, and even through season 3 where you start noticing the general pattern of Claire not knowing when to shut up or blatantly disregarding what's best for everyone, people get killed, Jamie gets arrested and almost executed for something, but every time narrowly escapes death....it's like, enough already. How many times are we supposed to accept this same cycle as being even remotely believable.
But Claire. She's becoming more and more detestable, which really sucks because she could be (and was) such an interesting main character. This start of season 4 though, I can't take much more. Does she think she can single-handedly end slavery in the 1760s, just because she WANTS to? Is she insane? Their lives have been in turmoil basically forever, and now they find themselves in America, with an awesome aunt, being GIFTED a huge, beautiful plantation, but God forbid she shut up and be grateful and actually be able to enjoy life a little.
I mean, I get it! Seeing slavery in action would be brutal to watch. The desire to change it would be overwhelming. But when she brought her nosy butt back through the stones, she willfully stepped back in time, and has to accept the way things are in that time.
As usual, Jamie has the right attitude. Do what you can for now, affect change on a small scale, making lives better for the slaves on your property and slowly working towards justice and freedom. But no, she has to up and behave in a way that is egregiously against the current laws and way of life, plainly not giving a damn about anyone around her.
Why hadn't the Aunt said, "never mind", and told them to get the hell out of there? Why can't Jamie tell her to shut the hell up and take control of the situation. He should spank her again, in all reality.
I feel like Claire could be herself and true to her character without creating a story line that has us literally yelling WTF at the TV and hating her by the end of episode 2. I don't know how I'm going to get through it, to be honest. I can't watch her destroy more people's lives.
Finch (2021)
Depressing but Okay....
It's okay, if you're in the mood for a total downer. On the plus side, it's Tom Hanks, who is always pretty great, and it's a mildly interesting concept.
But not only is it incredibly depressing, but the way the movie progresses is frustrating. You have to get through way too much of the movie before they actually give you ANY clue ask to why they are alone on a hot planet where everything is dead. You spend almost the first hour of the movie just saying, "when are they going to say what the hell happened?"
Even when it ended, I was left wondering much more about what had actually taken place on the planet prior to then.
It could have been a lot more interesting and a lot deeper if they had actually given mote back story.
Just....eh.
The Resident: Mina's Kangaroo Court (2021)
Pump the brakes on the wokeness!!
This show has been a welcome switch from the overly ridiculous Covid drama and blatant woke-speak that has taken over Greys Anatomy.
This episode made me nervous I'm gonna lose this show, too.
The Rookie (2018)
Entertaining and Mostly Watch-able.
This show, like most cop shows, is of course completely unrealistic in a million ways. That being said, I'm married to a cop, and this is one of the few cop shows he can actually sit through and enjoy. Good characters, plot lines, etc.
Except this insufferable professor/race hustler they have written into the show. She is laughable in the things she says and the attitude she has, than any actual good point they could be making on the subject of policing and racism is lost. And the way the characters on the department actually give her full access to department proceedings and actually value her ridiculous opinions is baffling.
Write her out and save this show PLEASE.
Your Honor: Part Ten (2021)
Unsurprising Bad ending to Bad Show
Well, we finally got to see that Adam kid die, so there was at least that morsel of satisfaction we had all been waiting for.
The most satisfying thing about the final episode has to be just the mere fact that it's over, and I have to endure no more. I can't even begin to list the amount of loose ends and plot holes that were never tied up in ANY way. The latest example of this is how in the last episode or two, they make this big thing about his dead mom having had an affair, leading you to believe that somehow this fact will tie into things in the end. And it doesn't. Wtf?!
God awful garbage. If you haven't started watching this, DON'T!!! I've never had a show that I have hate-watched and actually dreaded so much in my life.
Your Honor: Part Seven (2021)
Hate-Watching at its Finest
This POS kid of his better get what's coming, but I have little faith from this terrible writing and plot in general that there will be any satisfaction in the end of this.
